Two weeks passed in a blink of an eye. Leo and his friends had all their belongings packed and inside the car that would take them to the place they'd be staying over the school year. They had one hour to say their goodbyes before they had to go. Leo, Percy, and Nico were using that time to pull one last prank on the Stolls and the rest of the Hermes cabin, but first, Leo had someone to say goodbye to.
He walked through the forest lost in thought. What would high school be like? What would happen? After a while, Leo finally reached the clearing where Festus lived. In the clearing was a large pit full of motor oil and tobasco sauce. Festus laid by the pit in a circle of charred grass.
"Hey buddy!" Leo said. "How you been?" Festus looked at him. He creaked and squeaked a few times and Leo nodded. "Yeah, today's the day. I promise I'll come visit and that the other Hephaestus kids will make sure to take good care of you."
More squeaking and clicking. Tears sprang to Leo's eyes and he threw his arms around his dragon. "I wish you could come too, but you know Chiron won't let you. I just came to tell you that I'll be back. I promise." He let go and wiped his eyes.
"Leo! We're ready! Where are you?" Percy's voice came from his pocket. Leo took the monster proof radio out and pushed a button.
"On my way. Just saying bye to Festus."
"Well get over here!" Nico's voice said. "We have to leave soon!" Leo smiled.
"On my way, Death Breath!" He shoved the radio back into his pocket and gave the dragon a wave. "Bye buddy!" He said as he ran into the forest towards the camp.
Once he got there, Leo was breathing really hard. He spotted Nico and Percy crouching behind the Hermes cabin and walked to them.
"Repair boy reporting for duty!" He said and smiled to them. Percy laughed darkly.
"You guys ready?" He questioned. Nico laughed and it felt like Khione had walked up Leo's spine.
"Let's do this." he muttered. "Percy, did you pour the oil?"
"Cheak. Ready?"
Leo nodded and set his hand at the end of a trail of oil that surrounded the Hermes cabin. "Do it." He smiled. Percy set his hands on the ground and Leo heard water pipes explode inside the Cabin. The door opened and water spilled out, carrying about twelve tarafied campers with it. Leo summoned fire and the trail of oil lit itself and traced around the cabin.
Nico shadow traveled in front of the wall of fire and bent the shadows so his whole body looked black. He raised his arms and said, "The devil comes to collect your souls!" The campers screamed and tried to climb away from the fire, but the water continued to push them forward. Nico took a couple steps forward and grabbed Travis Stoll's ankle then Shadow traveled away again with Travis in tow.
Conner shouted. The wall of fire died and Nico popped up again with a scared and soaking wet Travis at his feet. Nico was laughing hysterically and hugging his sides. Percy and Leo walked over laughing as well. The Hermes campers looked confused before they realized it was a prank. Travis and Conner laughed before they ran back into their cabin and came back out with a giant cooler full of water balloons that were filled with paint.
"This means war! Get em, Guys!" Travis yelled and lobbed a red paint balloon that hit Nico in the face and exploded. Nico stumbled around.
"Guys, I can't see! Help!"
"Attack!" Conner yelled and threw a yellow balloon that hit Nico in the rear.
"Run!" Leo said and sprinted away from them.
"Nico, don't freak out!" Percy said and grabbed the son of Hades by the waist and threw him onto his shoulder like a sack of potatoes.
"Gah!" Nico yelled as another balloon hit his back and colored it purple.
"Come on! Get to the car!" Leo shouted as he stopped to wait for them. Once they caught up, they ran together from the angry and wet Hermes kids who were chasing them. By the time they reached Thalia's pine tree, Leo's hair was red and his shirt was blue on the back. Percy and Nico looked like the rainbow goddess Iris puked on them. They saw the black limo that their friends were piling into to go to school. With Nico still on his shoulder, Percy charged to the car.
"Go Go Go!" He said and shoved all the rest of his friends into the car and threw Nico in. "Leo, come on!" He shouted. Leo ran down the hill and another balloon hit him on the behind, sending him falling face first down the hill. Those Hermes campers could aim!
When he reached the bottom of the hill, Percy picked Leo up like a ragdoll and threw him in the car. Percy climbed into the car and shouted, "Drive!" as a Yellow balloon hit the rear window.
"What did you do?" Will and Annabeth demanded at the same time as the car pulled away from Camp Half-Blood.
"Um, it was Percy's idea!" Leo said. Annabeth gave Percy a glare as tariffing as Hades himself and Percy laughed.
"Um, we may have pulled the most epic prank ever on the Hermes cabin and kinda started a war." He said and told the whole story. By the end, everyone was smiling, except Nico, who was still blind from paint.
"You know they're going to destroy your cabin now Percy." Thalia said and laughed as Percy groaned and picked paint off his face.
"Um, guys?" Nico said, still lying on the floor with his eyes closed. "I have paint in my eyes and it's starting to burn."
"Oh gods Nico! It's in your eyes!?" Will exclaimed and started fussing over him. Once that was sorted out and they stopped at a gas station, everyone got out so Leo, Percy, and Nico could change their clothes.
"It was totally worth it!" Leo exclaimed as he clipped back on his tool belt. His hair and face were still covered in red paint that was wet.
"Well misters, no kisses for either of you till you shower." Calypso and Annabeth told there boyfriends. Leo looked at her with sad eyes.
"Please?" He said. Calypso rolled her eyes and turned away from him to talk to Hazel. Leo and Percy looked at each other sadly.
"Not as worth it." Percy complained. Leo laughed.
