TWO
|Jace|
I still remember that night, the blood surrounding me, the searing pain the she had given me. It's hard letting go, my hands and feet are weaker than before. There's nothing I can see, darkness becomes me. I don't know where I am, how I got here but all I remember is the person who I loved was not human. Sweet and loving Cath, the way her deep blue eyes reflected my face whenever we look at each other. The way she smiled without care while she closed her eyes. We were so happy together. She wasn't like me, she was something else. Only one thing came into my mind, she was not from this world.
"Psst."
I jerk my head around, searching for someone, but I see nothing in the darkness.
"I see you've been fooled by the pretty girl."
There was a flicker of light from afar, but still it was too dark. The flicker did not reveal anything.
"Who are you? How long have you been here? Are you trapped? Are we trapped?"
My voice was uneven, I was panicking. I heard the voice once again, it was raspy and old. Shit, he's been here for a long time. Shit, shit, shit. I'm going to be here forever.
"Boy, follow my voice and come closer."
Should I follow his voice? I probably shouldn't, he might kill me. Then again, he might give me some answers about where we both are.
"How can I trust you?"
My voice echoed into the empty darkness. This man was my only hope.
"I know the blonde girl, I met her in the 50's. I'm Millard. What's your name son?"
I decided to follow his voice.
"I'm Jace, Jace Maynard from the 21st Century."
I sarcastically added the last statement, he could be playing tricks on me. Hell this man might even be snorting coke right now. I ask him how he met Cath in the 50's, she's young as fuck right now. How the fuck was she alive in the 50's?!
"Boy, the girl is a demon I tell you. She was beautiful, her deep blue eyes matches the sky, her blonde hair falls over her shoulders. Don't get me started on her physique, she got nice racks. Nice racks."
He murmurs the last sentence to himself, he was reliving the old memory of them together.
"She still looks the same now, and the way you describe her? She doesn't sound like a demon."
He chuckled to himself and fought a coughing fit. I took steps and kept following his voice. His tone turned serious,
"Son, this girl, is not what the girl we both once knew. You knew that time when shit went down? Her eyes formed four do-"
I cut him off, "Four dots? When she turned all batshit, she had three pupils... What the-"
We whispered in unison
"She's counting down."
I ran towards the old man needing his help as much as possible. I heard his breathing, shallow and fast. I raise my arms in front of me and try to touch anything that comes in contact. I screamed his name,
"Millaaaaardd!! Where are you?!"
I try to look around despite the whole are was nothing but blinding darkness.
"What the fu-"
A hand covered my mouth as light came into where we were, we froze.
"Well, well, well. Seems you two have met."
