Of Tombs and Gold (Billdip)

Chapter 1: Home Legends

Dipper Pines was not your average 21 year old. He was an Archeologist which means he spends his life going around the world to dig up ancient artifacts. Dipper has never been a social person even when  he was in school. He was always teased for reading paranormal books and for his birthmark. However he didn't particularly hate school. Its where he met Pacifica Northwest.

At first they were good friends, then they became best friends and then eventually after years of debating and feelings they became lovers. Everything was amazing until about a year ago. Dipper was often away on digs to find things and Pacifica wanted him to get an actual job when she herself didn't have one. They begun to fight alot. To the point where Dipper couldn't take it so he ran to live with his sister and his great Uncles.

Stanford Pines was also an Archeologist and researcher of paranormal things. He would often accompany Dipper on expeditions and help him dig for Tombs and ancient treasures.His brother runs a paranormal tourist trap and helps to pay for these Digs and expeditions  in hopes that one day it might just make them filthy rich. Mabel Pines is Dippers twin, Shes always been supportive and caring, even giving Dipper advice. She knew Pacifica was nice and all but she knew deep down in her gut that she wasn't right for Dipper.

They all live in Gravity falls, and this is where our story begins...

"Hey Bro whats this?" Mabel asked holding up an ancient scroll.

"Oh that old thing? Yeah thats just some information that I borrowed from the museum down town. I think I might be onto something with this Mabes." Dipper beamed.

"Hm? Care to share Bro bro?" She smirked eager to listen.

"Well the scroll itself is basically a legend of an ancient Egypt prince, Its about a Pharaohs son who was murdered because he was different."

"Different?" Mabel asked.

"Yeah it was said that he had powers and abilities no mortal ever had. Ive tried doing some research but every scroll and book says the same thing. He was killed and buried in a tomb that no one has ever found." Dipper explained waving his hands around. When you asked Dipper about any myths or ancient things it was like putting a child in a candy shop. He loved talking about it.

"Sounds interesting, but why are you chasing something that doesn't have anything to go off of?" Mabel raised her brow in confusion.

"Well you see This scroll indicated that he was buried before his father, whos tomb HAS been found in the valley of the kings. Also legend has it that the tomb of the murdered prince of Egypt is made of pure gold."

Mabel's mouth opened in shock and soon as the world "gold" left Dippers lips Stanley Pines barged into the room.

"Did someone say gold?!" He yelled.

The twins laughed and shook their heads.

"No Grunkle Stan, Dipper was telling me about a deceased Prince's tomb." Mable giggled.

"Let me guess kid you want to go find this golden tomb huh?" He crossed his arms.

"Well yeah thats why Ive been doing so much research on it, Grunkle Ford said hed be happy to help out!" Dipper smiled holding the ancient scroll in hand.

"And where would you even start! Its like you said no one has any clues accept for the old story!" Mabel huffed sitting back on the couch.

"Well there is something, You see this line of hieroglyphics." He pointed to a small faint line of the ancient code/language. Stan and Mabel nodded.

"What about it kid?" Stan asked glaring at it.

"Well it says that the son was said to be a God on earth like Ra or Anubis, It was also said he had great knowledge which leads me to believe that he is buried near the temple of Arakna not far from the valley of the kings." Dipper explained.

"Ara what?" Mabel asked.

"Its a destroyed temple that isn't official yet; it has only a few pillars standing and it is the place where the wisdom of all the gods was worshiped. I believe his father ordered his sons body to be layed to rest in secret beneath that exact temple."

Ford was standing near the doorway. "Which is why me and Dipper are going on an expedition there, if you would like to join us that is?" Ford smiled looking through the funding papers.

"Heck yeah!" Mabel jumped up happily.

"If it will make us rich then count me in!" Stan grinned at the thought.

"Perfect we are leaving this week." Ford left it at that. Stan followed his brother out of the room.

"Wait this week, bro you promised Pacifica you'd try to talk things through, I mean your meant to be engaged are you not?" Mabel glared at her brother who began to sweat from the nervous pressure.

"Mabel its obvious I have no feelings like that anymore for her, ive told her and she wont let it go. Im not marrying her end of, come on lets go pack." Dipper groaned walking upstairs to begin to pack the essentials.
