Once Katie and Bookin pulled open the big metal door, they saw that there was a girl standing inside.
"I'm Delaney." Said the girl. "And you can't get past me."
Katie and Bookin looked at each other.
"We just want our friend." Said Katie. "Once we have her we will leave in peace."
Delaney giggled. "That's what you think." She lifted a bike above her head, and that's when Katie noticed the deadly look in her eyes.
Katie didn't have time to think or act.
Delaney brought the bike down on Bookin, hard. Then, Delaney did it again.
Before Delaney could do it anymore, Katie brought the flat part of her sword down on Delaneys head, and the girl crumbled to the floor. The bike fell to the floor with her, and the kickstand popped off.
Bookin was lying on the floor, bleeding out and crying. Her foot was a bloody mess, and it was bent the wrong way.
There were cuts, scraps and bruises covering Bookin's body. It looked like she had a broken rib from the way she was breathing, and her arm was clearly broken by the fact that there was a bloody piece of bone sticking out.
"Bookin." Said Katie, kneeling down beside her.
"Go on." Said Bookin, her voice raspy.. "You need to save Kiarra. I'll be here when you get back."
Reluctantly, Katie got up and walked through the door on the other side of the room.
The first thing Katie noticed in the huge room was the giant machine in the centre of the room. Kiarra was inside the machine, and she was out cold.
There were monitors surrounding the machine. There were nine scientists surrounding the machine, and standing directly in front of the machine was a brow haired girl.
"Glad you could join us Katie." Said the girl, whom Katie assumed was Barbie.. "We are just getting started.
~
Bookin was in terrible agony. After being attacked by Delaney and the bike, all Bookin could feel was pain.
Bookin was all alone. But Katie had to go. She had to save Kiarra.
Suddenly Bookin heard the door opening. Footsteps, and then Bookin felt strong, comforting arms wrap around her. She knew she should be feeling pain from her injuries, but the wounds were so severe that Bookin felt nothing.
Bookin opened her eyes slightly. Her vision was blurry, but she could barely make out a beautiful, shirtless boy holding her. Then she blacked out once more.
~
"What are you doing to her!" Said Katie.
The girl laughed. "I'm Barbie." Said the girl. "And we are getting what we rightfully deserve!"
Two of the guards ran over to Katie, confiscated her sword, and held there swords to her.
"Release her!" Said Katie.
Suddenly an arch of rainbow magic ripped from the tube on the machine. The arch was so large, it began to rip apart the wall, and part of the machine.
"What's going on!" Yelled Barbie.
"The machine can't handle the power of the rainbow energy!" Said one of the scientists. "If we don't stop it, it will destroy the reactor." He motioned to a big machine right below the arch of rainbow magic.
"Shut it down!" Said Barbie. One of the scientists flicker a switch, and the machine began to power down. But too late.
The arch of rainbow energy had reached the reactor, and the reactor exploded.
One of the scientists had been trying to shut down the machine, and he had been standing too close to the reactor. He instantly exploded. The other three scientists standing too close caught fire.
"The whole base is gonna explode!" Said one of the scientists.
"Get Kiarra and Mathew to the escape pod!" Said Barbie. "I'll be there soon."
One of the scientists pulled Kiarra from the machine, and carried her over to a door on the other side of the room. Inside was an escape pod that would fit five. Mathew walked in behind them.
"No!" Said Katie. "Give us Kiarra!"
Suddenly the door Katie had gotten in through exploded.
And in walked Shan. Shirtless.
"Did you miss me." Said Shan. He smiled.
