The Adventures of Spendy Scoot and Shoo Part 7

Chapter 3

Katie was sleeping when the alarm sounded.

Katie looked out the window. She could see of in the distance a commotion at the main gate.

She ran out into the hall, to see all of the servants and guards running about.

She grabbed a guard. "What's going on?" She asked him.

The guard looks frightened. "The castle is being broken into. Were under attack.

The guard rushed away. Katie ran down the hall, and stopped at the door leading to the rest of the castle. There were 6 guards standing at the door, with there swords at the ready.

"No one can break through those doors, right?" asked katie.

Just as one of the guards was about to respond, a loud bang sounded from the other side of the large door. A cloud of dust filled the hall. 

Then suddenly, the door fell of its hinges, crushing one of the guards, and standing there was Kiarra and Bookin, looking quite dishevelled, covered in dirt.

"We need to leave." Said Kiarra. "Now."

*THREE DAYS EARLIER*

Bookin rushed to her her bedroom and stuffed her small bag full of everything she would need. She glanced at Shan's diary, and quickly stuffed it into her bag.

She walked out and met Kiarra in the hall.

"You ready?' asked kiarra.

"Let's do this." Said Bookin.

They walked back up to the entrance, but all of the L.U.S.T agents were lying on the ground, dead.

"I'm calling for backup." Said Kiarra. She raised her hands into the air and a jet of rainbow energy flew into he sky.

Just then the ref aproached them.

"Get out now!" Said the Ref. "Get out! The squid kingdom has been infiltrated! Trust no one!"

A spurt of blood came out of his mouth and he fell to the floor. There was a dagger in his back, and there was a squid guard standing behind him.

"Bookin," said Kiarra. "We need to leave. Now."

Kiarra grabbed Bookin's arm and they ran down the opposite hall. They could hear the soldier calling for backup.

"We need to get out of here." Said Kiarra.

"We need to go to the stables to get jam." Said Bookin. "They are located by the door on the bottom floor."

Kiarra nodded, and they turned a corner to see ten squid guards waiting for them.

Kiarra shot a wave of brilliant rainbow light at the warriors, and they fell to the floor.

"Nice." Said Bookin.

"Lots of practice." Said Kiarra.

Bookin led Kiarra over to a hatch in the wall. "This is a short cut."

Bookin pulled a mask and an air tank from the rack next to the hatch.

"Your gonna need this." She handed the mask and the air tank to Kiarra.

After Kiarra pulled on the stuff, Bookin transformed into a squid.

There was a small keypad next to the hatch. Bookin typed in a code on the keypad.

Instantly a metal sheet spread itself over the window at the end of the hall, and over all the doors.

Water poured from the hatch as Bookin pulled it open.

It didn't take long before the hall was flooded with water.

The only light in the hall now was a red flashing light.

Kiarra and Bookin swam through the hatch.

When they got through the hatch, the tube went straight down. Thank goodness it was wider on the inside.

It took them down, down, down to the bottom floor. They came out in the pond by the doors.

The squids standing by the ponds were gaped at them as they climbed out.

The main road through the kingdom went from the bottom of the castle all the way to the gates.

They ran across the road to the royal stables.

They got Jam and walked out. When they got outside, Kiarra whistled, and scoot came flying down.

The girls mounted there horses. Since the battle with the darkness, security had been tightened. Now, you couldn't fly through the force field. You had to leave through the main gates.

So they rode as fast as there horses would go down the road. But eventually they reached the whole squid armada, waiting for them. Standing in the front was squid commander Carter.

"Queen Bookin," said Carter. "You are under arrest."

"By who's orders?" Asked Bookin. "I am the highest authority."

"Not anymore." Said Carter. "Stand down, or we will be forced to attack."

Bookin and Kiarra stood there ground.

"Have it your way." Said Carter. Then he turned to the army. "Attack!"

The army ran at them, and Kiarra nocked 10 men to the floor with one swipe of her hand.

Bookin shot ink at a warriors head, and blinded him. She took the butt of her sword and brought it down, hard, on his head.

Kiarra shot one huge blast of rainbow magic at the army, and they were all temporarily blinded.

Kiarra and Bookin mounted there horses as fast as they could, and rode past the army.

Up at the gate, Bookin could see a guard raise his bow, aimed at Kiarra.

Bookin grabbed her bow as fast as she could and shot an arrow at the guard. He fell to the floor.

When they got to the gate, there were five guards waiting.

Expecting a fight, Bookin was surprised when the one of them spoke.

"We have your back, your majesty." He said. "We are still on your side."

That could mean there are more who aren't bad. But that doesn't change the fact that the squid kingdom had been taken.

They flew away from the squid kingdom, and when they were about a mile away Bookin pulled a small device from her pocket.

"This button," she told Kiarra. "Automatically locks the secret vaults and the laboratory. Alarms will flash and the people inside those places will have 15 seconds to get out before it locks itself, and only I can unlock them with a pass code."

Bookin pressed the button. "Now they won't be able to get to the important stuff." She said.

Kiarra nodded. "So." She said. "Where to next?"

"We need to go warn Katie." Said Bookin. "If the squid kingdom has been infiltrated, I'll bet my butt that the neon kingdom has too."
