Chapter 7

John's POV
Six months later we gathered in our living room. It was the gender reveal party. Peggy was huge and we had decided to keep the gender a surprise. I was ready to find out. Alex and I stood under a bunch of balloons with Phillip and a dart.

"Alright, on three each of you pop a balloon." Eliza was standing off to the side recording it all. "1...2...3!"

We picked and popped our balloons and gold glitter fell out of them. There was one left. "Together?" Alex nodded and we held the dart together, so did Phillip. "3...2...1!"

The balloon popped and pink glitter fell out everywhere. I turned to Alex with tears in my eyes. "We're having a daughter!" Everyone cheered as I kissed Alex. "We're actually having a daughter."

"Do you guys have any name ideas?" I nodded. Funny how Angelica asked that question.

"Angelica Hamilton. Her name will be Angelica Hamilton." Tears formed in Angie's eyes as we hugged her. "We love you Ange."

"I love you guys too! Laf made a cake so let's dig in!" I walked into the kitchen to find an absolutely beautiful cake. It looked gorgeous. I gave Phillip a piece and he put a swipe of frosting on my nose. Everyone laughed and Alex licked it off.

"Phillip, you're gonna have a sister. How do you feel about that?" He smiled and I took that as a good thing. Everyone was so happy which made me happy.

"We're gonna make this your baby shower sorta too. We all got you guys something." Everyone handed us gifts and we practically buried in them.

"Guys, this is too much! We don't have room for all this." Peggy looked shocked at my statement.

"Not enough room? John your house is like a mansion! You have plenty of room."

"Yeah yeah. Alex wanna open the first one?"

Alex's POV
John offered me the first present and I accepted. It was from Laf and Herc. A beautiful very soft light pink blanket was neatly folded. They were the only ones who knew the gender. I ran my fingers over the material and smiled.

"You guys, this is lovely." I gave John the blanket and he agreed. "I might steal this." This earned a laugh from everyone.

"Here, this is from Maria and I." Eliza gave me a box. The wrapping paper was adorable.

John helped me empty the contents of the box. A rubber duck was the first thing we pulled out. I laughed and then John pulled out a crib set. It was grey and white with a blue blanket. Toys and a teething mitt and necklace were the last things.

"Thank you guys. Why the rubber duck?"

"Every kid needs a rubber duck!" Eliza ,who was sitting on Maria's lap, yelled out. Once again everyone laughed.

John had Sally and Peggy's present in his hand. He opened it and teared up. I have never seen a sonogram of my child and neither has John. Peggy had framed one and put the due date and a place for the birth date. In all, it was a huge frame with a place to add a picture, a hospital tag, foot and hand prints, and a name spot.

"Pegs. This is lovely. It's amazing. We might have to hang this in hallway." John was holding it now.

"You're welcome. I just thought since Phillip had one, I'd make one for Angelica."

"Only three months to go. Hang in there Pegs." I kissed her stomach and placed my hand on it.

"Mine next!" Angie gave us hers and it was so sweet and thoughtful. I bundle of children's classics and Disney movies were inside the middle of a small diaper cake.

"Ange. The books and movies are amazing! You even put 'Goodnight, Charleston' in here! Thank you!" John was most excited about the book. He told me his dad used to read it to him pretty much every night when he was little.

"Guys, thank you for coming. We appreciate it. Really. We love you guys!"

Everyone formed a huge group hug and we cried and hugged. I'm so thankful for my friends. Once we were done hugging, we ushered everyone out so John, Phillip, and I can have family time.

We went upstairs to our room and grabbed some of Pip's toys and books. We all climbed on our bed and covered up in the blankets. It might have been 87° outside but we didn't care.

"Pip. Are you excited about having a little sister?"

"Yeah!" He hugged me and I kissed him. Soon John was in the hug and it was adorable. God do I love my dorky family.

"Alright, let's watch movies and read books. How does that sound?" Phillip clapped his hands together and John put 'Beauty and The Beast' on the TV. Phillip fell asleep in our bed that night on top of me and I soon followed.

The Hamilton's are having a girl! I knew but you guys didn't. The cake Laf made is on the side. I have to get writing the next chapter so, Au revoir my beautiful turtles!🐢❤
