Chapter 10

Eliza's POV
I was so happy. My sister's and I were getting a long deserved girl's day. Maria was invited but she had work sadly. I fiddled with my cardigan as Maria shifted through my shoes. It was chilly in NYC at this time of year.

"Perfect!" Maria tossed me a pair of baby blue vans which matched my shirt. I was wearing a blue sweater and a pair of white jeans topped with a brown cardigan.

I put the shoes on and Maria kissed me quickly. "You look absolutely beautiful. Go have fun. I get off at 6:00 and I'm making dinner so be here please." I nodded and kissed her.

"Have fun at work." I grabbed my purse and left. Maria was an assistant at Burr's law firm and she was payed a decent amount of money. She liked her job mainly because she was a people person.

I pulled up in front of a small coffee shop called Rise Up. My sister's and I had agreed to meet here. Shivering from the cold, I walked into the warm, inviting coffee shop. Angie and Pegs were sitting at a table so I strutted over. Angie was talking to Thomas and Peggy was on her phone most likely texting John.

"Hey guys."

All three of them looked up. "Eliza!!" I hugged each of them and said hi to Thomas. He kissed Angie's cheek before leaving.

"So, how are you and Thomas?" I sat down at the table.

"We're okay I guess. He's been distant lately and he hasn't wanted sex. That's the weird part because he's always horny. You don't think he could be cheating do you!"

"I'm sure it's nothing. Maybe something with work? Look no distractions. It's our day today." Peggy smiled and Angie nodded.

Angie's POV
Truth be told, I was really worried about Thomas. He wasn't his normal-cocky-self. It crossed my mind so many times if he was cheating. Sighing, I took a sip of my coffee.

"Let's go shopping! I need clothes that aren't maternity clothes." Peggy whined.

"Alright. To the mall!" Peggy rode with me and so did Eliza. She said she'll get her car later. It was a silent ride there or at least that's what we wished it was. We were talking about how cute Angelica was. None of us had children so we just gushed over Alex and John's and Laf and Herc's. After searching for a place to park, I finally found one. The cold bitter air hit me as soon as I stepped outside.

"Let's go slow pokes! It's cold!" Peggy sprinted ahead into the mall as I laughed.

Thomas' POV
Angie and I drove to the coffee shop where she was supposed to meet her sisters at. When we got out, we saw Peggy already there. We exchanged hellos and I made small talk with Angie.

When Eliza came, I took that as a sign to leave. I kissed Angie before leaving for work. I hated work because of one person, Martha Wayles. Burr and I worked together and the company hired Martha to be my assistant. Why Maria couldn't have done it,I'll never know.

With my coffee in my hand and my bag over my shoulder, I walked up to Maria's front desk.

"Morning Thomas."

"Mornin' darlin'. What's on my agenda today?"

"Thomas, ask Martha." I groaned and got into the elevator. I pressed the number 7 button and waited for it to reach my office.

Once it did, I stepped out and walked down the hall politely responding to every "Good morning Mr.Jefferson!". I waved a simple wave and sighed once I approached Martha's desk outside my office door.

"Mornin Tommy." She twirled her hair and bit her lip while fluttering her eyelashes.

I wanted to scream. I gritted my teeth however. "Don't call me that. Just get in my office we need to discuss some things."

She walked in and I sat at my desk. Once the door was closed, she locked it. She walked over to me and began unzipping my pants. I tensed up and tried to stop her.

"Thomas, let me make you feel good. Angelica doesn't need to know. Who cares about her anyways?" I slapped her and pushed her off.

"I do! Keep her out of this!" I grabbed my phone and dialed Burr's number. He was only an office down. "Burr, get your ass down here now please!"

Seconds later my door was unlocked and Burr ran in. "Martha! You are secretary and are forbidden to have relations with an employee or do this! Clearly Mr.Jefferson is uncomfortable! I’m sorry but you're fired Martha. Thomas, I'll get Maria up here as your new assistant." I smiled and thanked Burr. It's nothing was his response. I've got a long day ahead.

Peggy's POV
After debating on what store to go into, Eliza dragged me into a Victoria's Secret.

"You're no longer pregnant, you need different bras." Sadly she was right, my current ones were now too big. She was practically throwing the undergarments onto my arms before she threw me into the changing room.

I tried on at least 20 and only went with 4. Every time Eliza saw it, she squealed and replied with something like "Sally's gonna love it." We payed and left towards American Eagle. I need jeans because again my current ones were too big. Stupid swollen ankles.

I got 3 pair of jeggings and some shirts. Eliza found a blue sweatshirt and Angie got some flannels. We all payed separately and got some lunch. I had to remind myself that I was no longer eating for two. We ended up getting Chick-fil-a.

"I need this baby weight to come off." I pat my stomach and Angie laughed. "Hey you try being pregnant. I'm actually surprised you and Thomas haven't had kids yet."

"Umm, well, we haven't throught about that. We just wanna take it slow."

"Ange, you're 24 and you don't have kids or a marriage yet. I want nieces and nephews!"

"Liza doesn't have kids yet."

"Oh yeah. Liza give me a niece!"

"One day Peg." She wiped her mouth with her napkin before standing up. She checked her watched and threw away her trash. "Can we go? It's 5:30 and I promised Maria I'd be home at 6:00 to eat dinner with her."

"Sure." Angie drove us back to the cafe and we said goodbye to Eliza before she drove off.

Eliza's POV
I drove him and got there just as the clock turned to 5:57. I noticed Maria's red Ford in the driveway meaning she was home. I opened the door and took my shoes off after hanging my coat up.

"Baby I'm home! It smells amazing in here!" In the kitchen was Maria in a tank top and shorts hovering over the stove.

"Hey sweety. Dinner's ready." She kissed me and put dinner on a plate for me. "It's crispy ranch pork chops with mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts."

"Sounds amazing. Thank you honey. How was work?" I took a bite as she intertwined our fingers.

"Great actually! I'm Thomas' new assistant!"

"That's great. Thank you for dinner. I love it." I kissed her cheek and she blushed.

"You're welcome." We ate and talked about our day. I'd have to say that it was the best dinner I've ever eaten.

So this is a new chapter. I wanted to include some other characters not just John and Alex. Next chapter will probably be about the Hamilton's or Lafayette's. Au revoir my beautiful turtles.🐢❤
