Chapter 41

Angelica's POV
"It hurts, Nathaniel." I cried.

"I know baby, I know. I'm driving as fast as I can." Nathaniel replied, squeezing my hand.

I've been having really really bad cramps and feeling really nauseous so Nathaniel rushed me to the hospital.

He checked us in and they immediately got us into a room. They paged for my aunt and soon she was in. "Angelica, it's okay. I'm here honey. Your parents are on their way."

I painfully smiled. "I'm not in labor right?"

"No. He should actually be perfectly healthy but something got in your system and is making you feel bad. I'm gonna run some tests but first let me do an ultrasound."

We waited for a few minutes before we got the all clear. "There is your little baby boy."

I sighed in relief but it turned into scream of pain as the cramps increased.

"Can we get an IV in her with some pain meds!" Auntie Angie called out.

"Dr.Jefferson! She's got a high fever. Add a fever reducer to IV?"

"No, give her a small shot of morphine. Let's see how that goes and then once the pain is gone and the morphine wears off we'll go from there. I'm so sorry sweetheart." She kissed my head.

Nathaniel wiped the tears away from my eyes. "I know it hurts. I'm right here." He held my hand.

"I'm gonna go find your parents. Be careful with your IV." I nodded and Auntie Angie left.

Nathaniel got in the bed with me and rubbed my stomach. "Hi Easton. Mommy's in a lot of pain right now." I smiled. "We're ready to meet you but now isn't the time. 3 more months." He kissed my stomach gently and then looked up at me.

"You're such a good father." I smiled and he kissed me. "Easton is gonna love you so much."

"I'm gonna love him too." Nathaniel cuddled me, careful of my IV.

"Angelica." Dad came over and hugged me tightly. "Oh god, you're okay. I was so scared that you were going into labor."

"I'm okay, dad. Calm down." I smiled, laughed a little, and kissed his cheek. "Easton isn't coming out any time soon."

"I'm just glad you're okay."

Father came over and hugged me too. "Phillip’s coming too. He was at Daniel's and he's bringing him here."

"Okay." Nathaniel kissed my forehead. "Guys, I'm not dying. I'm okay." I smiled. "Auntie Angie gave me pain meds."

"I'm so glad Angelica is a doctor." Father said. "At least you're in good hands." He sat down on the small couch and dad sat on his lap. Father started petting dad's hair.

"I'm getting so big." I frowned. The secret was almost out. Theo has been very helpful in keeping it quiet but I'm getting to big to hide.

"And you're getting so goregous." Nathaniel kissed my forehead.

"Should I just let the secret out?" I asked, playing with my fingers.

"That's up to you, dearest." I heard dad answer. "If you're ready, then do it."

"I agree with your dad." Father chimed in. "We believe in you, Angie."

I smiled and nodded. "Then I'm ready."

Three days later

It was my first day back after being discharged. I was only in for two days but going back was scary. I'm gonna let the school know. No more hiding myself under Nathaniel’s sweatshirts.
