StaryNightLynx Dared
IMPORTANT:
Umm, before we start, Scarlett vs Ariel is going to happen in book 6 (I think it's that one). So this is going to be more like a sneak peek. However, you still need to read the fight in book 6 because it could change and you need the context I'm not giving away yet. Okay? Okay.Jen POV
Scarlett takes a small step forward, the edge of her lips curling upward slightly as she analyzes her new opponent. By Ariel signal, all of the nearby guards put down their weapons and take a step back. She summons her signature red bow, and a light charged arrow at the ready. "So be it then." She growls under her breath, staring straight into Scarlett's eyes.
"You don't have to do this for me, I don't deserve-" Scarlett cuts me off with her wing flicking up to my mouth. "Sh." She murmurs, "You've been through enough." Scarlett meets Ariel's gaze with a glare, unfazed, and simply chuckles. "You're sure about this?" Her voice changes to a mocking tone as she pulls a dagger from her belt. "I wouldn't want to embarrass the almighty Queen in front of her subjects."
Ariel responds by pulling the arrow back, aiming very carefully. "What do you know," she hisses, "a scared demon. That's a first." She lets go, the arrow flying forward like lightning. Scarlett spreads her wings, kicking off into the air to doge, but it turns. The arrow chases the Half-Demon in circles, until she dive-bombs towards Ariel and they both get hit. A bright flash, along with sparks of gold and silver electricity light up the dark room, temporarily blinding everyone.
During Ariel's hesitation, Scarlett leaps forward, tackling and pinning her to the ground. Scarlett holds the dagger to her throat, and smiles triumphantly. "Gotcha." Ariel smirks herself, "You've forgotten something Demon."
Before Scarlett can realize what she meant, her own weapon is suddenly surrounded in a red light, and is held against herself. Her eyes widen and pupils shrink Scarlett's horns light up in a sparkling gold. A blast fires, and a small cloud of black dust prevents me from seeing much, only that Ariel blocked the attack with a shield.
The Queen's eyes spark violently, crackling and popping red electricity as it trails down to the ground, surging through the room. Scarlett holds defensive stance, gentle gold sparkles swimming her and levitation. Intense heat washes over the whole room, as I'd we're in Hell's oven. Then, quick as a flash, the two forces of magical energy meet. A thick cloud of dust, dirt, and small rocks scatter, filling the room and hitting everyone in it. The surge itself pushes us all back by several feet, and for a while, no one moves. The cloud eventually settles, revealing the two magic users at a complete standstill, shields up and panting to regain their breath. Everyone tenses up an uneasy feeling swarming the room. I instantly start fear for property damage, or other people possibly getting hurt before one party gives in to the other.
However, Scarlett starts...laughing. she stretches her wings, with a huge grin spreading on her face like wildfire. "Man, I have not had a good battle like that in ages!" She giggles. Ariel smiles, putting away her weapon and laughing herself! "Well, you are tougher than you look, I had to actually try! Maybe you should run the training program around here Demon." Scarlett rolls her eyes, "First off, it's Scarlett. Second, I don't think it pays much to be a teacher." The two chuckle, and I personally gape that my friend. I expected her to be more of a, "fight till I can't stand" type. What just happened?
My question is answered when they look at each other, a look of respect in both of their eyes. As if they came to a mental realization in the battle....
A/N: ....😶 If this all written down on paper in front of me and I had to copy it all to this. Dang, I work well at 11:30 at night. (At least I think I do XD)
