Hermione stood in her bedroom alone, with ten minutes spare before Ginny arrived, supposedly getting dressed. Instead, she stared down at the lingerie set that Pansy had given her for Christmas of which she intended to wear underneath her clothes as a surprise for Draco later on. The lace material was drastically revealing, something Hermione wouldn't even dream of wearing, if not for the fact that she had felt guilty for not wearing the set yet and had a boyfriend of whom would not complain if she wore it. In fact, Draco would probably have a heart attack from excitement.
Brushing away her doubt and ignoring her fiery red blush, Hermione reached for the set and began putting it on underneath her dressing gown, not daring to look into the mirror and see how it looked, for fear of collapsing with horror. After all, she had never been the most curvy girl and her body was just another thing on top of others that she was self conscious of. Then again, Draco had always seemed perfectly content with it. She then put on her top, tights and skirt, adding some black heeled ankle boots to the look before Ginny strided into the room.

"Draco let me in" she explained, hugging her best friend. "And damn girl that outfit is gorgeous!"
"Thanks Ginny" Hermione laughed, then noticed Ginny had her outfit on too. "You look amazing!"
"Not yet I don't. My hair and makeup needs doing. Speaking of which, would you mind doing my hair for me?" Ginny asked, standing in front of Hermione's mirror and experimenting with her hair, tossing it over her shoulder and twisting it this way and that.
"Sure" Hermione smiled, glad to be of help, then sat Ginny down on the edge of her bed, brushing her eee3eeeeeelong, red, straight locks through her fingers in envy. Ginny had such beautiful hair.
"How was yours and Harry's date today?" She asked, as she began braiding Ginny's hair into a French braid.
"It didn't last very long. Let's just say that Valentines day leads to unexpected things" Ginny smirked, and Hermione heard the meaning behind her words.
"Thanks for the information" she replied to sarcastically.
"You asked" Ginny shrugged. "Anyways what did you and Draco do?"
"He took me to Diagon Alley."
"That's thoughtful" Ginny smiled. "Any plans for tonight?" She winked.
"Mayyybee" Hermione grinned in reply.
"I bet he's as good as all the girls say he is."
"Ginny!" Hermione exclaimed, giggling.
"Thought so" She smirked, as Hermione finished braiding her hair and charming it with her wand to have glitter sprinkling through it. Ginny stood up and went to look in the mirror.
"Wow! Thanks 'Mione!" She said with a grin. "Your turn" she said, sitting Hermione down and taking her spot.
"Is Draco still here?" Asked Hermione, noticing that she couldn't hear his usual footsteps in the dorm.
"He said something about going to Blaise's" shrugged Ginny, and Hermione nodded in reply.
Half an hour later and Hermione looked in the mirror to see that Ginny had put her hair in a loose bun, connecting two plaits which started from each side of her head. Curled tendrils were pulled out on each side to frame her face, giving her a princess look.
"I love it! Thanks Gin" she smiled.
"You're welcome. I'm thinking we should do our own makeup seeing as this party really isn't as important as the ball was."
"Agreed" replied Hermione, grabbing her makeup bag off her bedside table and going into the bathroom, allowing Ginny her own space to have full use of her bedroom mirror.
First, she added a light coat of foundation and powder as she really didn't need it anyway. Keeping her eyeshadow a natural tone of brown, she then put on some winged eyeliner and volumising mascara, which made her eyes feel heavy, the reason why she very rarely wore it. She then put on some lip gloss and last minute blush, before going back into her bedroom where Ginny was still in the process of blending her eyeshadow, something Hermione had never been experienced with, hence why she only used one colour.
"Hermione you look gorgeous!" Ginny exclaimed, catching sight of her best friend in the mirror.
"Thanks" Hermione replied, blushing with slight embarrassment having never been the most confident in her looks.
Ginny returned to the process of doing her makeup and fifteen minutes later she was done and looking as amazing as usual.
"How do I look?" She asked.
"Perfect as always" Hermione replied.
"Ready to go?" Ginny asked. "Mcgonagall wants us to wish everyone a good time".
"Are you kidding?!" Exclaimed Hermione.
"I know you don't like standing up in crowds but Luna will be up there too" Ginny reminded her with an apologetic smile.
"I hate parties" Hermione grumbled.
"Hey! Don't be such a spoilt sport. You'll love it" Promised Ginny, linking arms with her best friend before they both headed out of the common room to the great hall.
