Hermione forced herself not to let her inner smirk show on her exterior, faking a look of pure fear at the sight of Draco's wand pointed at her and Theo's anticipating expression. It wasn't hard, as tears were already staining her cheeks at the helpless bodies of Harry, Ron, Ginny and Blaise, Blaise who just wasn't the same without his mocking laughs and bright, white toothed grin, Ginny who's fierce nature was currently invisible beneath her tear stained face, the only daughter that Arthur and Molly had, Harry who was a war hero, her brother, her strength throughout the years was as helpless as a mouse. And Ron. Ron who she had once had so much chemistry with, Ron who had parents who could not bear to lose another son. Though they were a few metres away, Hermione, if she looked carefully, could make out the barely conspicuous rise and fall of their chests, their shallow breathing being the only indication that they weren't dead. Not yet at least."What are you waiting for?" Theo growled. "Kill her".
Hermione had to reassure herself that Draco's wink was real and not just a trick of the light, deceiving her into believing she genuinely stood a chance.
Draco raised his wand higher, until all of a sudden, he turned like lightening, fast, sharp and unforgiving.
"Stupefy!" Draco yelled, causing Theo to be thrown backwards into the cold, stone wall, his head smacking off the hard rock before his body fell to the floor, limp and unconscious.
"Bombarda!" Draco turned to Hermione, freeing her from the torturous chains of which seemed to make the time go by slower. But now she was free, free and ready to be strong once again. She ran into Draco's opened arms, inhaling the mouthwatering scent of green apples that drifted through her nostrils, warming her senses and reminding her that she was once again at home in the arms of Draco Malfoy, of whom was trailing kisses all down her neck and shoulder, tiny sparks of electricity shooting through her at every touch of his lips.
"The others" Hermione reminded Draco sternly.
"Oh yeah" he replied lightly, causing Hermione to roll her eyes at him in an annoyed manner, before Draco sent a curse at the choking vines, relieving Harry, Ron, Ginny and Blaise from the binding tangles. Each one of them gasped for oxygen in a panic, eyes widening at the sight of Theo's unconscious body and the obvious state of Hermione.
"Hermione!" They all yelled at the same time, running towards her, expressions of both worry and joy. She was sweeped up onto a brotherly hug by Harry and Ron, Ginny more or less suffocating her despite the weakness of them both after being tortured by Theo.
"Great she's back, now we're all going to have to catch up with our homework before the bookworm curses us herself" grinned Blaise, rolling his eyes in a joking manner.
"Hey! You better have been doing your studies. I don't care how bad I've been tortured as long as you pass" replied Hermione, punching him on the shoulder lightly.
"Nothing changes does it?" He sighed lightly, shaking his head at the gryffindor whilst the others laughed at their antics, truly, genuinely laughed, unable not to feel giddy with sweet relief. However, much to their horror, Theo began to groan, sitting up painfully whilst rubbing his head, hatred and disgust clear on his face as he eyed the group distainfully.
"You should be dead" he glared, seemingly unaware of everyone's wands pointed at him, of which they had collected only a few seconds ago.
"So should you! You're not even worthy of being alive" Ron sneered taking a step towards the slytherin.
"Ron, no! Wait until Professor Mcgonagall gets here" Harry warned him, placing a hand on Ron's arm.
"Mcgonagall doesn't know where we are though" pointed out Ginny quizzically.
"Expecto Patronum!" Harry exclaimed, causing the tip of his wand to produce a familiar stag patronus which leaped out of the room, blue light and sparks flying out from behind it.
"She does now" he said cockily.Hermione spotted a slight movement of Theo's hand of which closed around something on the floor just beside him. She wondered what it was for a second, but then began to realize, with a feeling of terror, that she did not recall Draco taking Theo's wand from him, forgetting throughout all the madness.
"Draco, his wand!" She cried, unable to defend herself due to her wand being stupidly left in the dormitory and as Draco was the closest armed person to her, she clung onto him tightly, anticipating an attack.Unfortunately, that's exactly what she got.
"Crucio!" Theo yelled, blasting Hermione once again with the agonizing, torturing, unbearable curse. It hit her square in the chest, her legs flailing out from behind her with no strength to push her arms out in order to block the fall. Instead, whilst she felt the all too familiar stinging, burning and sensation of knives cutting through her bare skin, scorching her deep wounds, she sailed through the air, landing on the solid gray floor just as a chorus of voices screamed her name.
It was the final blow, the final repeat of the unforgivable curse that sent her body and mind into a dark abyss.
The last thing she became aware of before she fell into darkness, was the calming, relieving sound of Mcgonagall's and professor Slughorn's horrified voices.
