Once I realized he saw my scars, I covered my stomach and ran into the house. I ran all the way to our room and collapsed on the bed.
Luke ran after me and stopped abruptly once he saw me. He slowly approached the bed and I felt the bed sink down beside me.
"Tatum?" Luke rubs small circles on my back, "Please talk to me."
I ignore him and continue to silently sob. I never imagined for him finding out I had previously self-harmed, only because I was so scared of how he would react. I guess I didn't want to loose him.
Now that I think about it, he couldn't have left me. I remember Ashton self-harmed back in high school for getting bullied. Luke and the rest of the boys helped him through the whole situation.
Once I worked up enough courage, I turned to face Luke. His eyes were closed but he wasn't asleep. I took the time to take in his features.
It wasn't until now I realized how deep he is. His image may come off as 'I don't give a fuck' but he's probably the sweetest guy I've ever met.
Luke's deep blue eyes open and stare back into my piercing green ones. His hand reaches up and caresses my cheek.
"I'm so sorry, Luke," I apologize.
"Why?" he asks softly.
"I was going through a tough time," I say.
"I could've helped you through it. I would've. The boys and I would've if you told us," Luke replies.
"How many times do I have to say this? I'm sorry, Luke," I say.
"Why?"
"It was my coping method. I felt embarrassed to tell you guys about what was going on in that house while he was still alive, and I liked the pain," I say quietly.
I finally looks into Luke's eyes. I notice how his eyes are glossed over with tears.
"Please tell me you've stopped," Luke's voice cracks.
"I stopped a few months ago," I replies.
"You are the strongest girl I've ever met," he kisses my forehead.
"Thank you for not disowning me, Luke," This time I places a kiss on Luke's mouth. It's salty and wet, but he didn't care.
"I would never. You are so amazing, Tatum. Remember that," Luke rests his arms around my waist and we lay there in silence.
"Hey, we're going to-oh, am I interrupting something?" Calum asks.
"You're fine. What were you going to say?" Luke asks.
"I was gonna ask you if you wanted to go to a party a few blocks down," he says.
"I could use a party. What do you say?"
"I'm down if your down," Luke smiles at me.
"Meet us downstairs in a half hour. Dress casual!"
