Angrily, my frail little alarm clock projected it's annoying voice throughout our dorm. Iris groaned miserably as I heard a thump, meaning she fell out the bed (hilarious). Hopping out of bed, I went to check up on Iris, who was laying on the floor smiling at me and the ceiling. Confused, I burst out laughing at her strange behavior. I hoisted her up and lead her to the kitchen. Cackling like a witch the oil was heated by the iridescent flame of the gas-top stove. Delicately I placed in bacon and eggs and let them fry happily, whilst they were cooking I span around and rose my eyebrow towards Iris and said, spill the beans. Immediately she replied with her ventures of the night before, the sorority party of which I had survived alone.
Instantly she began apologize for leaving me last night; I was already over it anyway. I finished cooking the bacon and eggs and pushed the plate towards her as she began to coat it in tomato ketchup and I laughed at her again at her weird habits. Scoffing our breakfast I notified her that our meeting was eight for Alpha Kappa Alpha and a high pitched screech numbed my ear drums. Glancing at my watch, to our downfall, was in ten minutes time. Desperately we launched ourselves out the door with our bags and headed for AKA's meeting room. Everything was placed with elegance, everything plated with gold, it screamed beauty. I loved it, I could tell Iris loved it too. I knew today, I had made the best decision.
Clink Clink, a glass of water was tapped with a silver spoon by the head of AKA and the table, eagerly everyone's heads turned towards Becca. Becca had perfectly combed dazzling blonde hair which was straightened to a t. Pale Blue eyes rimmed with mascara and coated in smoky looking eye-shadow, lips smothered in chap-stick and lip tint. She was our leader and they were her minions. We still had the interview to go and my nerves we turning into spaghetti. My stomach churned as I slowly lost more and more concentration on the whole surroundings. My breath came heavier and heavier. Controlling my breathing, I became more aware of the situation; I was next.
Becca had numerous questions up her sleeve, as each question revealed more and more about me, I replied fluently and rapidly. Almost with ease. I grew prouder of myself. Iris went up, without a doubt she would do amazing. She didn't break a sweat. Cheerily as Becca wrapped up our interviews we continued with the meeting. Excitedly I paid attention it was like sororities 101. Questions and answers we being thrown from every direction and everyone was on their feet. I loved sororities it was a group of girls, whom always had each others back. You could always rely on them, they were like your sisters. They were almost family.
With the meeting being drawn to an end, everyone arose from the uncomfortable plastic chairs we had sat on for the last couple of hours as everyone waved goodbye warmly. Prepping for the first day of class tomorrow. Thrilled me and Iris skipped to our dorm. The majority of our classes are together so I wasn't worried. Pulling on my hoodie I drifted to sleep with the television buzzing away in the background.
