How to party - By Iris

Awkwardly I paced into the sorority not knowing what to do with myself, I lost sight of Iris who must've seen a man she fancied. So embarrassingly I remembered her steps on how to survive a sorority party.

Step one: Drink. You come across more down to earth with that weird red solo cup full of unknown alcohol. So I poured myself some punch into the red plastic cup and sipped slowly although i felt like I stuck out like a sore thumb; I carried on for Iris' sake

Step two: Talk. Make friends. Don't be shy. So agonisingly I approached a guy. I weakly said hi.  he replied a simple hey and a giggle.

"Hey I'm Mario, you're new gay best friend"

That automatically made this conversation ten times easier. The conversation flowed smoothly right up until a heavily make-up'ed girl dragged him away, annoyingly. So. Step three

Step three: DANCE! I can barely stand on two feet. Let alone heels, then dance in the dark. Internally I'm screaming but instead i slowly swayed side to side on the up beat song. Quickly, funny glances were shot my way as i realized the stupid DJ had put on a slow song; everyone came together. Couples elegantly rested their heads on each others shoulders as the swayed side to side. Mario, with a cheesy grin offered me his hand rescuing and saving me from being embarrassed for the second time today. Stepping on his shoes I danced nervously as he carried me swiftly around the dance floor. As the music passed I felt as if i could finally breathe again; I didn't acknowledge that I'd been holding my breath for that long. Mario whispered 'you're welcome' and disappeared into the the crowd of sweaty sorority and frat followers.

Step four: find sorority girls! WE NEED A SORORITY.

I walked around the many groups of girls to find each sorority. I didn't know.

I'm in college, I can't constantly rely on Iris, so off I went, deep breaths, I approached a girl, big crystal blue eyes with a perfect smoky eye, ruby red lips finished with a silver pantsuit. Greeting me warmly she explained what Zeta Phi Beta was all about and how important it was, if me and Iris did join here, our academics were their priority.

Next I approached another girl, hazel eyed with a pale blue eye-shadow, her perfume suffocating me. Her best feature was the fact was her beauty, with that she intimidated everyone around her. She explained to me how Alpha Kappa Alpha was for the best of the best they wanted us to strive. Perfect for my parents expectations for me, so this was my best bet. She told me our meeting time tomorrow was 8 am and she would interview me and Iris then. What joy. Waving goodbye. I set off to find Iris, weaving through the drunk dancers I found her by the punch, as I thought. It was my turn to drag her now (result!). Our trek home was a long one, although our dorm was under five minutes away it took almost a hour as I held Iris up. All that dancing and alcohol wasn't a good combination to say the least. Adjusting Iris on the sofa I washed my face, the water cooling me down. Exhausted I relaxed onto my aged bed. I'm achieving more. A sorority.

Before resting my tired head I jumped out of bed and filled a glass with tap water and placed a headache pill on the table next to her bed.

Intrigued for the meeting tomorrow I fell asleep, soundly.
