Sorority. A big commitment. Huge commitment. Something I was mentally prepped for, it wasn't something given to you easily. It wasn't served to you on a silver platter; so to speak. Numerously throughout these couple of weeks in my new sorority Alpha Kappa Alpha, I thought I was a vast improvement to some of the low achievers in our group. Rarely committing, their input was praised, yet the over achievers were overlooked. This enraged me. I kept this to myself though. I wasn't one to make a scene. The cafeteria our meeting was planned in today had a musty familiar smell of cheap cheesy pizza and looked incredibly out dated, yet it was comforting with shaggy curtains and unique mirrors. Glancing over at a Iris whom was wearing a short daisy printed pantsuit and she store back at me with her emerald green eyes. Jokingly, I threw her a funny face, soon getting another back. I grasped back to the conversation with a stern look, from the one, the only, queen of AKA, Becca. Of course, I returned with a respectful eye roll and rose my hand to reply to another question.

During the meeting I met a girl, who was quite pleasant. Her name was Ruby. She was beautiful, her long auburn hair was curled and crisp with hairspray, her hazelnut eyes could melt anyone who dared to stare into them... Her personality was different; her conversations were so intriguing. Her frequent interests were anime and karate. Impressively she spoke to me about her black belt and told me about her support and encouragement from her father. A familiar glow came about her when she spoke proudly of her father. Waving goodbye I exited the cafeteria.

Then. Something happened. I met someone. Whom before I knew it was going to change my life.

Hurriedly I whacked into a boy, who was passing by; his aftershave tickling the tip of my nose. His jawline, which was sharp enough to cut, which was sprinkled with stubble, his hair looked silky soft with a warm rouge color. Embarrassed, we both burst out with apologies whilst bending over to pick up our books. Normally, we introduced one another, his name was Clyde.

Warmly he spoke " Hey Vanessa, nice to meet you"

Swooning, I replied, with an awkward hiya, internally I cringed at  myself yet Clyde stifled a laugh at me. Together, we walked across the paths of our college, throwing random questions on each other; learning about one anothers interests. For example: he likes pepperoni and pineapple pizza, funky and different. Giggling away he asked my favorite book, my immediate response was harry potter, his grin widened. Pushing his black rimmed glasses his red hair fell across his freckled nose and unadmittedly I swooned over his unacknowledged beauty.

Soon after we began the trek to my dorm, filled with information to report back to Iris. I waved him goodbye and scurried into my dorm, before I ran and jumped on Iris, relaxing on the sofa.

" OH MY GOD " I hollered.

 Iris' POV:

I sat there in complete awe. As a rambling Vanessa recalled and recited her previous conversation I sat absorbing each feature of their time together,as any good friend would. The description she gave me of him sounded like he was a god. Surely not.. right? I laughed endlessly as Vee's cheeks became redder and redder. She really must of liked him. Clyde. That was it.

I was so happy to find out that she'd found someone she could relate to,who was equally as weird and geeky, now it was my turn to find someone...
