I woke up to Iris' screech. She giggled cheekily as I grinned in return. Boringly, we got ready for our first day of college. Overwhelmed. Thrilled. Confused. Honestly, I didn't know what to expect from my first day of college; I carried on squishing the burnt toast into my mouth. Smacking my lips pleasantly once I had finished.
Mountains of books were carried under my fragile arm as me and Iris walked calmly to class. The soothing warm toned bricks of my college were scattered all over campus. My sweater reaching my neck, it warmed me to my toes. Approaching the worn wooden door we burst in happily whilst walking in the direction of our first class. Maths. Most importantly, Algebra. Trigonometry. Arithmetic. All of it brought me joy. It was my close passion next to writing of course. My colored notebooks spread an appetizing array on my desk in front of me. Smiling, I wrote the date on the silver toned notepad. Neatly I wrote the date. September 2018.
Our professor projected his voice proudly across the classroom educating us everyone we would require to know for our up coming tests. Looking at Iris she was wildly taking down notes. Although her favorite subject was science she excelled in every subject, she was the female Albert Einstein. Bursting my eardrums the bell that rounded off class sang beautifully as it guided us to our next class, English! Hurriedly I plotted myself at a seat near the front. I wanted to allow myself one hundred percent attention in this class, I wanted it to be my future after all.
Madame Vasa handed out strict essay schedules with horrifying due dates. Numerous samples of different styles of writing. I quickly read through mountains of examples. Romance, Sci-Ficton, fantasy, comedy. I loved them all. I lived for them all. Annoyingly, the kids at the back of the class didn't have the same attention span as me, so to speak. Iris sat lonesome in the middle of the class
Iris' POV :
Bored.I stared into space. English. I haven't got a creative bone in my body. Yet Vanessa, Was thriving at the front of the class, she was in her element, I was extremely happy for her. Kicking back, soon after giving up I got a worrisome look from Mme Vasa. Sitting up I attempted the work again, even though it was my least favorite subject. Finally, the bell chimed. Literally, saved by the bell
Vanessas POV :
Sighing, to my disappointment the bell chimed. I packed away my notes and slyly waved goodbye to Mme Vasa and exited to the door and waited for a emotionally drained Iris. Linking arms, we were finally freed. We walked past the vibrant flowerbeds and settled down towards the cafe. I was poured a gigantic glass of coffee by a waitress in vintage uniform: which consisted of red and white striped apron, bright red frilled dress armed with a sassy name tag, which read her name of 'suzie'. Ordering a hefty serving of pancakes me and Iris individually demolished the whole plate with a drizzle of Canadian's finest maple syrup. Wandering back to our dorm, our plans for tonight were settled. Jam packed with sitcoms and dramas. Me and Iris, back home did this on a regular occasions, so it was like our ritual. Pouncing on the sofa with a never ending bowl of butter popcorn we began snuggling into blankets. After a couple of films me and Iris fell asleep.
Hey, I switched it up a tad this episode with a change of point of view. Two updates in one day!
