Gem AU (Klance)

Okay I know this has been done a lot- and that it would make more sense as fanart and shit but whatever lmao

Okay so here's how it's gonna go down.

Allura- Human but has gem DNA? Someone in her family was part gem but nobody knows about it

Shiro- Onyx

Pidge- Peridot

Keith- Ruby

Lance- A Blue Pearl

Hunk- Citrine

I'm not following the Steven Universe storyline so just bare with me?

"Keeeith! Laaance!" Allura cried from her bed at the top of the stairs. Although being human, the gems had taken the girl in when her father had been killed by a Homeworld gem almost six years ago. She sat in her small bed sniffling, waiting for the two gems to arrive at her side.

Keith was the first one to respond, a red beam of light illuminating the whole room.

"Allura? What is it, are you alright?" Keith hurried over to the ten year old curled up in a ball. Lance arrived moments later, running to Keith's side.

"Did you have another nightmare sweetie?" Lance gently rubbed her back to try and calm her down. Allura only nodded her head, sniffling again.

"Allura," Keith shifted onto the bed next to her. "You know nothings going to happen to us. And we're not gonna let anything happen to you either."

"I know, but I can't help it," she leaned into Lance, enjoying the comfort he was giving her. "What if you're wrong? What if a Homeworld gem comes back and gets one of you two? Or Shiro, or Pidge, or-"

"Allura, don't worry. You should just go back to sleep, everything's fine." Keith wrapped his arm around both her and Lance, protecting them both from Allura's rambling thoughts.

Lance smiled down at her, then moved her into his lap, turning her around to face Keith. Allura held Lance's left hand and Keith's right. They did this almost every time the girl had a nightmare or couldn't sleep. It'd become completely natural to the three of them. Keith looked down to the small girl, then up to his partner. They shared a fond look and linked their hands.

"Can you guys tell me about how you met again?" She grinned at them both, gently tracing her free hand over Keith's gem placed on the back of his right hand.

"Again?" Lance laughed. "How many times have you heard this?"

"Three." She answered confidently. "Four hopefully?" Keith shook his head at the girl's reply.

"I guess it can't hurt." He shrugged. Allura cheered softly.

"Okay," Lance began. "We start on Homeworld- or more specifically, a ship orbiting Homeworld."

"Pearl, could you come here a moment?" A higher class gem asked- despite her tone, he could tell it was an order, not a question.

Lance nodded. He made sure to cover his eyes quickly with his long but neatly trimmed bangs. It was somewhat important for the more "classy" gems to have their eyes covered, but only if they were apart of Blue Diamonds court. It had something to do with the mourning of another Diamond, but Lance didn't necessarily care. The Diamonds weren't his favorite gems. They didn't treat many of their gems kindly.

"What can I help you with?" Lance clasped his hands together, not truly knowing what else to do with them.

"Blue Diamond needs you to assist an Onyx and his Ruby. They're visiting from White Diamond's court to discuss matters of war." The gem didn't wait for a response, just began walking away expecting him to follow.
