I walked down the stairs slowly, knowing that all the boys were staring at me.

"Hey," Joey smiles.

"Hi," I say, looking down, blushing.

"You look amazing," Charles compliments.

"You look really nice," Aaron says.

"Okay, something is wrong. You all are complimenting me," I say.

"No!" They all protest.

I walk quickly back upstairs and look at myself in the mirror. I was wearing this...

With some black heels.

What is so wrong with this look?

"Hey," I hear, and turn to see Joey.

"Oh, hey Joey," I smile awkwardly. He's never been in my room before.

"I think you look lovely but..." he says, and I turn and look at him, frowning.

"But what?" I say.

"The boys are looking at your cleavage," he says.

I look down at my chest in the mirror and realise that is actually a problem with this dress.

"Oh... right," I say awkwardly.

"It's okay," he says, then takes off his black hoodie and hands it to me. "Here. Just wear this over the top. It's not big deal, we're just going out for a birthday party."

"Yeah, true," I answer, then put on his hoodie.

"Okay, let's go," Joey says.

"Wait, Joey..." I say, and he turns to look at me.

"Yeah?"

I hug him. "Thank you."

He hugs me back, and I dig my head into the crook of his neck.

"It's okay, y/n," he says, then kisses my forehead, leaving me stunned.

He kissed my forehead.

We walked together downstairs, and the boys all stared at me again.

"Why are you wearing Joey's hoodie?" Blake asks as we walk out my front door.

"It's cold out," I reply, and we all hop in Charles' car.

The night went well, and we all wished Luna a happy birthday. The boys all stopped at my house and we hung out for a while.

"I'm going to go and get changed. Be right back," I say, and they all reply with 'okay' or 'have fun.'

I get changed into some sweatpants and a plain white top, then throw on Joey's hoodie again.

When I'm walking back downstairs, I stop and listen to what they're talking about.

"Why don't you just take her out on a date, bro?" I hear Aaron ask.

"Yeah! A little dinner date by the stars," Blake adds, and they all end up chiming in with their ideas.

"Ooh, yes! Dinner for Joey and y/n!" I hear Charles add.

"She isn't the type of girl I want to date," I hear Joey say.

I feel my heart drop. They were definitely talking about me. There's no other girl called y/n in our school and our grade. I've liked Joey since seventh grade, and now I know how he feels about me.

"She's the type of girl I wanna marry," Joey adds.

My heart flips back to life and I come running into the room.

Everyone is shocked when I hug Joey.

"Hey," he says in surprise. "Please don't tell me you heard that whole conversation with me and the boys."

"I did," I answer, and they all laugh, including Joey.

"I take it you feel the same way?" Blake asks.

I simply nod and all the boys begin cheering and saying 'oooo' and jumping up and down. Joey shyly kisses my forehead again.

"Get it, Joey!" Charles says.

I look up at Joey, laughing. Joey smiles down at me and slowly leans in, kissing me softly.

That was only first day that Joey and I realised we were meant to be.
