"Hey okaasan..."
"Do you think I can become a hero?""..."
"I'm sorry... Izuku..."
It wasn't what he'd wanted to hear, hell, he didn't want to hear that from her.
But surprisingly, he wasn't that all affected, sure, he did cry. But he'd cried for many years before already, it wasn't worth anything. He still decided to hold on.He believed it was all going to be ok.
And luckily, he wasn't the only one.
Sure he knew that deep down Inko still hadn't truly believed he could make it. But she still did. She still kept smiling, she still kept loving, she still kept being an amazing mother.
He had grown to love her, for who she is, for all the support, all her care, it was obvious, even down to her food. She really loved him.
He'd loved her too. The only thing keeping him from going ballistic was those pair of rugged hands, those aged eyes which held ever so much love for her.
He'd loved her too even when he got rejected from Yuuei, despite his devastation he still found it easy to call her name, to love her, when everything else seemed impossible, she was there for him. Even if he wanted to die off, it was impossible, for she was still there, he could never bring himself to subject his mother to such torture.
After all.
She was his only hero.

Midoriya knelt beside her coffin, staring into it, and at the beautiful image in front of him.
She's still so beautiful, even in death.
The entire day he had been busy entertaining guests, countless faces that he didn't recognize before suddenly showed up to comfort him. It was truly puzzling, if they actually cared, why hadn't they visited last time? Why only now?
His mother was clothed in a pure white kimono, with slight makeup on. It was tradition to send them off looking beautiful. And she truly was.
But he couldn't stop himself as his eyes took in her withering body, her sunken face.
The signs of death were as plain as day.
He knelt beside the coffin, inhaling the scents of the chrysanthemums surrounding both him and his mother.
"Okaasan, forgive me... If only I was there for you, if only I had just came home earlier..."
You wouldn't be alone like this.
You wouldn't have to face this kind of end.
Midoriya couldn't control his tears anymore, he had been for the entire day.
They welled in his eyes, and began streaking down his face as he yelled in pain.
Midoriya clutched his heart as waves of pain racked his body. Screaming in agony as more tears spilled out of his body. Memories swarmed through his body and escaped through his tears as he wept for his mother.
"It hurts so much..."
"Why did you have to leave, why not me, I... I don't deserve to be here."
