"I got the football mommy and daddy!"
Carrie closed the car door after Wilson jumped out of the backseat. Riley then came around the other side of the car with her favorite blue football in her hands. "See mommy? I got it."
"I see sweetheart," she answered as Harrison came over.
"Here Riley!" He called while holding his hands up for her to throw him a pass.
Riley lobbed a pass over Carrie's head and into Harrison's hands. "Go deep."
She jumped over the curb and ran into the grass. "It's coming!" Riley looked over her shoulder as the ball neared and caught it against her chest. She then got both her mommy and daddy to laugh when she spiked the ball every time Harrison did when he ran an interception back for a touchdown.
When she came jogging back with the ball, she asked Carrie, "that looks better than daddy's doesn't it?"
Harrison now stood with his arms crossed across his chest as he awaited his wife's answer. She looked from him, to Riley, and back. Carrie smiled to him before turning to Riley and telling her, "I think it looks so much better than daddy's."
"I see how it is," he whispered to Carrie as Riley came over to him.
"Did you hear that daddy? Maybe I should help you celebrate after you score a touchdown."
"You should Riley. I think I could learn a lot from you."
"Can we go for a walk now mommy and daddy?"
They both nodded and called Gary and Wilson. "I want to go through the woods and by the lake," Riley told them.
When Riley came to the park, she was hardly ever interested in playing on the swings or going down the slide. But she loved to go for walks. The park had a few woodland trails that she loved to walk with her mommy and daddy, as well as a small path that led to a pier where Harrison would often take her fishing.
"We should've brought the fishing poles daddy."
"I know sweetie," Harrison told her as he noticed the pier oddly empty. "I'll tell you what, why don't we get up early and go fishing tomorrow morning?"
"I thought you had practice?" Carrie asked.
"Before practice."
"Yes daddy! Let's do it!"
"And maybe Uncle Luke will want to come too."
"Ask Uncle Luke right now!"
He smiled. "I will, don't worry."

They were halfway through their walk through the woods when Harrison got a text from Luke saying he wanted to go fishing tomorrow morning, and that Alex got signed by the Saints, whom they played at home this weekend.
After throwing the football for Riley again, Harrison handed his phone to Carrie. "Why does this never stop?" she asked.
What made Alex being signed by the Saints even worse was that the Saints were in the Panthers division in the NFC South. That meant they would play him two times this season.
Carrie gave Harrison his phone back. "Don't you think about starting anything again this weekend."
He thought for a moment before answering, "okay."
"You promise?"
Harrison didn't know what to say. He swallowed and told her, "I won't start anything."
