Carrie had just finished pulling her long hair back into a braid when Harrison walked in the bathroom. She saw him fiddling with the knot on his tie before dropping his hands once he noticed her looking back at him in the mirror.
Harrison stopped behind her and placed both hands on her hips. He rested his chin on the top of her head after she backed up into his embrace. Slowly, his hands then moved to rest on her pregnant stomach.
"Are you sure you don't want me to come? I can be there. I can get somebody to get my stuff done today."
Harrison shook his head. "I'll be fine." Then he whispered, "I don't want him near you either."
"He's not going to be able to do anything to me. You'll make sure of it and I'll-"
"I'll be fine," Harrison answered again. "Besides, you've been telling me this was going to be a busy week for you."
"Are you sure?"
He nodded. "I'm sure."
Carrie turned around to face him as he added, "they're going to get the audio, hear what he had to say, and there's going to be an understanding behind my reaction."
"What did he say?"
"You don't want to know. Trust me."
Harrison tilted her head up and pressed a gentle, passionate kiss to her lips. "I love you."
Carrie smiled up at him. "Oh I know," she whispered as she grabbed his tie and used it to pull him down for another kiss. "I love you too."
She fixed his tie. "There you go."
"Thank you. I know you're going to have a busy day, but I'll call you when I can and let you know what's going on."
"Okay."

By mid afternoon, Carrie was over anyone that walked into her office. She'd been interrupted during both her job interviews she had scheduled today. And she'd been so busy that she was only able to answer one of Harrison's three calls.
Carrie spun around to the other side of her desk against the window that overlooked the field when she heard a light knock on her office door. She set her pen down and sighed. What now?
"Come in."
The door opened and Harrison came walking in. Immediately, Carrie smiled. "Hey you." Just seeing him was enough to relive all of her stress, and make her smile for the first time since she got to work this morning.
"Do you have a minute?"
"I have as long as you need," Carrie answered, clearing a spot on her desk for him to make himself comfortable. "Please tell me you have some good news."
Harrison sat down across from her. "I have some good news."
Carrie anxiously waited for him to answer. "I won the appeal. I don't have to serve the suspension or pay the fine."
"That's great!"
"I have some even better news."
"What's that?"
"Alex is suspended the rest of the season."
Carrie couldn't believe that. "Why?"
"Jeff and I presented a good case. The audio really helped us. They're looking back at what he did to you and he's going to get the punishment he deserves."
Harrison continued. "The league is officially investigating him for sexual assault. I found out today that you weren't the only one. He's going to get a sentence, he's going to get banned from the league. There's not much he can do about it now. The damage is done. He did what he did." He paused. "Would you be okay with testifying in court against him?"
She immediately nodded. "Yes."
Harrison came around her side of the desk and pulled her to her feet before giving her a hug. "I'm sorry if this is going to bring back memories. I wish this whole thing never happened. Just know, I'm here. I know it's going to be tough. We'll push through it together."
Carrie hugged him tightly. "Thank you."
