"Ari I think you should sit down a second," Livvy says as she pats the spot next to her on the bed but I ignore her and continue to pace back and forth.
"No, I refuse to sit down until I come up with something to do that will get back at that asshole," I say and Livvy sighs from her spot on the bed.
"Look I hate him too but maybe you'd think better if you weren't dizzy." Livvy sits me on down on the bed and for a second I sit there just thinking. What could I do to hurt him like he hurt me? I get up from the bed again as I get an idea and Livvy groans since she just got me to sit down.
"Hey, do you remember that kid that Cole hates?" I say looking at Livvy and can see her tense up a bit.
"No, I don't. Cole hates someone?" Livvy says and I look at her weirdly.
"Yeah, I think his name is Hunter," I said and Livvy runs a hand through her dark brown hair.
"Oh, Hunter... yeah, I've seen him around the halls a few times but I'd stay away from him I heard he's trouble." Livvy says and I sit down on the bed beside her.
"Really? How so?"
"Well ever since..." Livvy paused "He lost his brother he's been different and he isn't the same bubbly football player he used to be. Now he's just this bad boy who doesn't care about the rules almost like when he lost his brother he also lost himself."
"I thought you didn't know him?" I ask quietly and Livvy nods her head.
"I don't anymore," Livvy answers quietly. The way she talks about him it's almost like she knows him honestly but as far as I can remember they've never even talked before.
"Well, I plan to ask him to fake date me at the party tonight in order to hurt Cole," I said really fast and Livvy looked at me like I was a crazy person.
"WHAT?"
****************************************************************
"I still think this is a terrible idea," Livvy says as we pull up to a nice house that had been trashed in order to entertain a bunch of teens on a Friday night.
"I know it is Livvy but I need to hurt him like he hurt me." I unbuckle my seatbelt and open the car door. "and what better way to do that then to date his enemy."
"Fake date right?" Livvy says and I nod my head. I don't really know Hunter that well and I don't even know why they hate each other so much but I honestly don't really care much.
The door to the house is wide open already and just by walking in I already felt sick. I have been to plenty of parties over the years, I mean you kind of have to when your dating one of the most popular football player in the school but that still doesn't mean I fully enjoy coming to these things. I step around a couple of people that are already passed out in the living room which is ridiculous considering it was only about 9 pm. Livvy somehow managed to get ahead of me and I follow her to the drink table which is littered with an insane amount of alcohol. Livvy serves herself a shot of vodka and I roll my eyes as I go to the refrigerator and grab a Coke-Cola. Of course, she planned to get drunk tonight and that meant that I would have to be the babysitter how fun. Although that probably is wise considering I'm about to talk to someone who I've never really met before.
"Oh my god!" Livvy screams scaring me out of thoughts and back to reality. She wraps her arms around some girl with blonde hair but I don't really get a chance to investigate who it was exactly before I'm pulled into a room that I didn't even know I was standing next to. The possible kidnapper closes the room door to keep the noise of the party on the outside and turns the light on. Suddenly I'm met with those familiar blue eyes that kept me together after everything that happened the summer before my junior year but now they are so close to making me break.
"What do you want Cole?" I said in a bored tone hoping maybe he would get the hint I didn't want to talk to him.
"I just want to talk," He said and I laughed. I couldn't help it it just was so cliche for him to say that even though he knew I obviously didn't want to talk to him.
"And I want Sam from Supernatural to marry me because the guy is perfect but I'll let you in on a little secret. You don't always get what you wish for." I said and I turned around but he pulled me back.
"Ariana I don't need the sarcasm right now," Cole said and I pulled my arm out of his grip.
"Sorry, darling it comes with the package you would know that if you actually paid attention instead of cheating on me," I said and I start walking towards the door but I decided to do one last thing to hurt his beautiful ego.
"By the way can I ask you something?"
"Anything," Cole says and I smile this was going to be good.
"Have you see Hunter by any chance?" And Cole's eyes almost instantly filled with anger.
"Hunter?" Cole clenches his jaw and I nod my head. "Why are you looking for him?"
"Isn't that a good question?" I said giving him some sarcasm because obviously, he loves it. I open the door to the room and just walk out without another word.
The music felt louder than when I first left but I ignore it and start looking around for people I knew that might know where the infamous bad boy was. Looking around I spot my best friend on the dance floor and I start walking in her direction.
"Oh hey, Ari!" Livvy yells over the music and I smile as I can tell she's a little tipsy which is ridiculous considering we've been at this party for less than an hour. How much has she been drinking?
"Weren't you looking for Hunter? He's over there silly" Livvy says and points a finger towards the front door as a someone walks in. I thank her and double check she's not completely drunk before racing over in that direction. I tap on his shoulder just before he's about to follow a group of football players into the back porch and he turns around to look at me.
"Can I talk to you?" I say and he nods his head as if he didn't know what else to say. We walk outside into a corner where no one could really hear us well, but I could see his friends making shocked expression at us. I couldn't tell if they were wondering why I was talking to Hunter or what happened with Cole.
"So what did you want to talk about?" Hunter says and for a second I get nervous I don't know why because it's not like I have anything to lose if he says no, I don't know him.
"Okay, so I know this is going to sound weird but I really need a big favor which I know is weird to ask a total stranger a favor because you don't know me but..." I start rambling because I do that when I'm nervous but Hunter interrupts me.
"Anything you want what's your favor?" Hunter says and I'm shocked for a second.
"Well, I want to be your fake girlfriend," I said quickly because maybe if I said it super fast I could process it in my head and realize how much of a ridiculous idea this is.
"No," Hunter said simply and I opened my mouth in shock.
"What happened to 'Anything you want'?"
"Yeah 'anything you want' except that," Hunter says
"Really? Can you at least hear me out?" I said in defense. I mean I know I sounded like a crazy person but if someone asked me that I'd ask why not suddenly say no.
"Fine please explain to me why you are asking me to be your fake boyfriend at..." Hunter pulls out his phone for second "11:16 pm?" Where have I heard that sarcasm before?
"Well, I'm sure you've heard about Cole cheating on me," I said my voice getting quieter and Hunter's jaw clenches.
"Yeah I've heard I can't believe that little asshole would do that to you when he knows he's so lucky to have you in the first place," Hunter said and I smiled at that.
"Cole didn't think he was so lucky and since he thought he could play me I feel like it's my turn to play him. I figured I could hurt him by dating someone he hates more anyone which is you. I don't know why you guys hate each other so much and I don't care because it has nothing to do with me but I know you'd love to see him squirm." I said and I could see Hunter considering it.
"I would love to see him squirm and that take that damn smug look off his face without getting kicked off the football team," Hunter said and I smiled bigger because I knew he was going to say yes.
"But I'm going to have to say no."
"What? but you sounded like you were just about to agree, what happened?" I said and Hunter starts laughing.
"I'm kidding Aria, of course, I'm in," Hunter says and I roll my eyes but while I'm happy he said yes, something else caught my attention.
"Aria?" I repeated back to him
"Yeah, I called you that whats wrong?" Hunter said a slight panic in his voice.
"Nothing I've just never been called that before," I said but it did sound familiar. "I like it. It's definitely cute but if you have a nickname for me I feel like I should have one for you." I paused for a second then said with a smile, "Hunty."***********************************************************************************************Author's Note:
