Chapter Three:

"Livvy please get off the kitchen table," I asked her for the 10th time but again she shook her head and continued dancing.

"Come on Ari stop being a buzzkill and come dance with me," Livvy yelled on top of the music and I rolled my eyes.

"Livvy you're drunk get off the table," I yelled but over the cheering of the guys, I don't think she heard me.

"Oh yeah? If I'm so drunk than I guess I won't remember this." Livvy says and she begins lifting up her shirt much to the enjoyment of the crowd below. I freak out but Hunter is able to push me up to the table with her before she fully flashes the crowd.

"Livvy stop!" I said and she pouts.

"You're no fun," Livvy says as Hunter helps me get her off the table.

"Fun's over," I said and I start walking her towards the front door.

"I'll take you guys home," Hunter says and I shake my head.

"It's okay I can do it," I reply as I try my best to hold up a drunk best friend and open the door at the same time. I fail completely and the door closes just as I fall on the floor with Livvy in my arms.

"Don't do that you're gonna make me wanna throw up Ari," Livvy groans and I roll my eyes. This would be so much easier to do if she wasn't drunk and could walk herself to the door.

"Need my help now?" Hunter says looking down at me with a smirk and I sigh. There was no way I was going to be able to get her to the car alone if I couldn't even get her through the door.

"Just help me take her to the car and since you wanted to help you can drive," I said handing him the keys. I hear Hunter begin to protest while he picks up a giggling Livvy off the floor but I start walking away.

Once we get to the car and Livvy is safely buckled into the backseat Hunter backs out of the driveway. The car ride is quiet for a bit until finally, I break the silence.

"You know I didn't need your help with Livvy I could have carried her by myself," I said crossing my arms over my chest causing Hunter to chuckle.

"Yeah you seemed like you had it under control," He recanted sarcastically.

"I'm sorry but I don't think I asked for extra salt with that meal," I say and Livvy groaned.

"Ari, did you remember to get ketchup for my meal?" Livvy says from the back of the car.

"Of course you know I wouldn't forget your favorite sauce," I said with a giggle.

"Second favorite," She replied with a wink and Hunter and I burst out laughing at her drunk remark. Of course, even when she was drunk Livvy could always make a sexual joke.

"Wow you guys haven't changed at all," Hunter said quietly and Livvy scoffed from the back seat.

"You sure have," she says just as we pull into my driveway. What was that suppose to mean? Hunter stayed quiet while Livvy opened the door to the car and stumbled out. She somehow managed to get to my front steps and sit down without falling on her face.

I look at Hunter who is awkwardly tapping his fingers against the steering wheel and I take a second to assess the situation. Here sitting in the driver's seat of my best friend's car is Hunter Adams. I never really paid much attention to him in the past because I was dating Cole and I didn't need to pay attention to anyone else but that didn't mean I hadn't heard of the infamous bad boy. Girls in my class talked about his enticing blue eyes, brushed back brown hair, and let's not forget about that mischievous smirk that charmed the pants off almost every girl in school. Hunter's smirk was so charming I've seen it work on teachers but someone who really couldn't stand him was Cole. I always wondered what had occurred between them that caused Hunter to give him an icy glare and Cole's grip on my hand to tighten everytime they were near each other. It was rumored that it was because Hunter had taken Cole's spot as quarterback of the football team at the end of last year but the tension between them felt far more personal than that.
