SUMMARY : The first time Maeve Grundy killed someone was in college. She woke up, did her usual morning routine, and when she kissed her boyfriend while on their way to their first class, he fell dead against the grass at her feet. She screamed for help, sobbing beside his limp body, beyond scared for not only his life but for her own. He had been her everything and with one kiss she had ruined everything. When a crowd had formed around her to either help or watch, a hand reached out to pull her back, and that is when Maeve Grundy made her second kill. Terrified, Maeve left and never turned back.
Maeve traveled from hotel to hotel and never once making human contact, in fear that she would take another life. It was a terrible life to live, but one she knew she had to so she wouldn't harm anyone else. Several times, she had tried to end her own life, but it seemed that her genetic abnormatlity forbade her to die. The woman wasn't sure it if she just couldn't take her own life or if she was immortal, but either way she was trapped in a world of seclusion, of loneliness.
Until, there was a knock on her hotel door one evening. Assuming it was the desk clerk or maid, she opened the door, only to be met with a surprising pair of a man and a woman. Confused, Maeve asked what they wanted and who they were, and the answer she received had surpised her. They were from a secret organization called S.H.I.E.L.D. and they needed her help, all because of her abnormality. At first she had denied, but when Director Nick Fury held out a pair of gloves that would allow her to touch and not kill, she truly knew they were desperate for her help. And so, Maeve Grundy became an Avenger.
But what Maeve wasn't expecting was to fall in love. Bruce Banner was kind. He was smart and funny and his smile made her insides melt like butter, but how can you have any sort of relationship if you cannot touch the one you love without killing them?

ADDITIONAL NOTES : ─ This story is a slow burn. Maeve and Bruce don't have any romantic feelings until Post-Avengers when he studies her DNA to find out why and how she kills people with her touch.
─ Maeve can kill people with a single touch. But it must be skin on skin contact or else it doesn't take affect.
─ At first, her powers were chaotic, killing anyone that touched her or she touched. But overtime (and before she became an Avenger) she grew to control it. To make it so she controlled her power, activating it only when she chose to activate it, which was never. However, she is still trying to gain control over it even as an Avenger so don't have her go around touching everyone on the Avengers because she's still afraid of herself and what she can do.
─ Maeve only wears long-sleeved shirts and jackets, jeans, boots and her gloves with her hair down. She is never seen wearing anything less because she prefers to cover as much skin as possible so no on can touch her and die. When she is on missions, she wears a black suit similar to Natasha's but made differently without the gun holster and such.
─ When Maeve uses her powers, she can feel the person dying even though it takes less than five seconds for them to die and because she is a good person at heart, she hates that feeling. So she tries not to kill unless absolutely necessary.
─ Aside from her powers which she only uses unless necessary, she was trained with twin batons by Natasha after the events of The Avengers. During battle, she prefers to use them over her ability.
─ When the Accords come into picture, Maeve will not sign them. Instead, she chooses to retire as an Avenger because she doesn't want the government to control her and tell her when to kill and when to not kill. However, she will only come back in the game when Steve asks for her help.
─ After helping Steve and being rescued from prison by Steve, Maeve goes back into hiding. She does this alone, not traveling with Steve and the others. But she does have their numbers in her burner phone.
─ Maeve will return during Infinity War and Endgame. She'll see the news and call Steve, who picks her up on their way to Scotland to find Vision.
