SUMMARY :
Ever since she was a little girl, Shelby Danvers has been fascinated by dinosaurs. She loved them more than anything. By the time she was six, she could name every species better than she could recite the alphabet. Her room was decorated with an array of stuffed toys, figurines, posters, art, photographs, books and even Jurassic Park memorabilia. To say she was obsessed would be an understatement.

After graduating from high school, Shelby decided to go to Jurassic World with the little money she had in hopes of finding her dream job. However, she didn’t get the job she was hoping for because they park didn't want someone so young working so closely to dinosaurs. But they did promise her a future position if she stuck around long enough. So, for now, they gave her another job, one more suitable for someone her age. And on that summer day was when Shelby Danvers become the youngest employee in Jurassic World ─ and Jurassic Park, for that matter ─ history.

If you asked Shelby, scooping ice cream at Dino-Mite Desserts wasn't so bad, but it was certainly not her dream. But the girl knew if she stuck around for a new years, kept to her work schedule and didn't cause any trouble, the park would give her a better job in no time, and Shelby was fully prepared to wait if that meant she got to do what she always dreamed of.

A year passed and life was good. She got to use her employee card to go on all the rides for free, she had made some great friends around the park, and she got to see dinosaurs every day. But Shelby Danvers never expected for Jurassic World to erupt in total chaos.

ADDITIONAL NOTES :
─ This story is a fast burn and an AU because I have extended the timeline of Jurassic World.

─ The extended timeline basically pushes things back and forward a little. Zach and Grayson actually stay with their aunt for about two weeks (maybe a little less) and THEN they are seperated when all hell breaks loose because she is late to meet up with them AGAIN and Zach says "screw it, let's go explore the park without her."

─ During those two weeks, Zach will meet Shelby when they get ice cream and he flirts with her because, well, if you've seen the movie you'd know that he's a big flirt. And he'll keep coming back until she finally decides to accept a date.

─ They go on a date on Sunday, which is her one day off from working because it allows her to explore the park's activities and get a break from scooping ice cream in the blistering heat.

─ Shelby's best friend at the park is Miles. He works at Dino-Mite Desserts with her. They both work the same shifts and are both off on Sunday.

─ Aside from Miles, Shelby's other friends include Joel Thompson (who works at a gift shop), Iliana Marvyn (who is an artist with one of those characature booths), Benjamin "Benji" Stewart (who is a tour guide) and Samantha Windsor (who works a pretzel cart.)

─ Miles is dating Iliana.

─ Shelby does know who Owen and Claire are. Claire is the one who hired her and Owen sometimes shows her and her friends the Raptors because he finds Shelby's knowledge of dinosaurs remarkable. He learns a lot from her.

─ Shelby is with Zach and Gray when the park erupts in chaos.
