The churning waves and the salty spray of water made Darkwater smile. The moon laid just above the horizon, like thin blades, ready to slice the water. Tonight was beautifully clear, the sky speckled with tiny, white dots that glittered magnificently.
Stargazing and enjoying time outside of the water was Darkwater's favorite thing to do, even if his other brothers say it's dangerous. It's not like Queen Coral, his mother, would care if he ever got mauled by a SkyWing. The princesses of the SeaWing Kingdom is all that matters. The princes could never take the throne.

"Darkwater," a croaky voice suddenly says, breaking Darkwater out of his peaceful concentration. "Queen Coral needs to see you."
Clownfish, one of the royal guards, emerged from the water, his emerald green scales shimmering in the moonlight from above. Oh, that's new. His own mother needing him for something. Coral usually asks her guards or council members for help, and she uses her sons to guard the kingdom. Darkwater wasn't old enough to be a guard yet, so all he did was walk around the Kingdom of the Sea, reading scrolls and talking to other dragons. Nothing much to do.

"Why does she need me?" Darkwater asks, folding his wings closer to his body. "I don't know. But come on. You know Her Majesty doesn't like to be kept waiting." Clownfish was already underwater the moment he finished his sentence. Darkwater wasn't special at all, or popular. He was just one of Coral's thirty-six sons, nothing other.
Darkwater and Clownfish swam to the Deep Palace, letting the current sweep under his wings to give him a boost through the water. He wondered what would his mother need from him. Was he in trouble for trespassing into the Sky Kingdom again? He always loved the monstrous mountains and comfortable heat in the Sky Kingdom. In a way, it was better than the Sea Kingdom.
Once he finally reached the Deep Palace with Clownfish, the whole palace was quiet and barely any SeaWing citizens around. Darkwater's night vision helped him through the dark waters of the palace, as there was no lights to navigate the way at night.

Her Majesty is in here, Clownfish flashed in Aquatic. Clownfish swam past a few strands of seaweed swaying with the small current of water and landed on some polished stone steps and slowly opened the large, limestone doors that was decorated with yellow markings made with metal, possibly painted with waterproof paint. Queen Coral? Clownfish flashed, before looking back to see if Darkwater was still following him. Darkwater trailed right behind him, having a bit of a concerned look on his snout. Was he really in trouble? What would his punishment be? Would his teeth or scales be ripped out? Would he be chained to a mountain and be deprived of water for months? Please don't be in trouble, please don't be in trouble. Darkwater repeated that thought in his head, as if it was a mantra. Moments later, Coral majestically glided through the hallways towards the entrance where Darkwater and Clownfish was. Ink covered Coral's talons, including some droplets of ink on her chest. Coral smiled, her pearly white teeth not as imitating as they usually are. Alright, come on, son. Your other siblings are in the meeting room. She glanced at Clownfish. You may be excused from your duties, Clownfish.

Clownfish bowed and flashed, Thank you, Your Majesty, before he swam off into the darkness. Coral then glanced down at Darkwater who was looking back up at her, his expression now softened into a neutral look. Come.
Coral beckoned Darkwater to follow her by flicking the tip of her tail towards the inside of the structure.
Red crabs crawled across Darkwater's claws and tiny tangerine orange fishes swam past his face as he followed his mother. What kind of matter needed all of the royal heirs in a meeting room? Was the kingdom under attack? Was there another royal heir murderer on the loose, like the ones who killed his sisters?
The two dragons turned a corner and swam into a big room with a large, circular table in the center. Darkwater's other thirty-five brothers surrounded the table, including his surviving sisters, Anemone and Tsunami, though Auklet was nowhere to be found. The young royal heirs were all chatting with each other, their bio-luminous stripes flashing on different parts of their body, lighting up the room as if there was large, flickering light bulb in the room. There was no need for night vision at this point.
But when Coral shut the door, almost immediately, all of the heirs' stripes stopped flashing, and they looked at the queen. No one should disrespect their mother, especially when they're the queen.

Alright, everyone. I suppose you all are wondering why I asked all of you to be here. Coral stood on the front of the room, near a mural of the ocean that was on the wall. Darkwater glanced at his brother, Prince Turtle, who was also looking directly Coral, probably listening to every word she says. He didn't even blink.
He then glanced at Anemone, looked bored and ready to burst out the doors of the room the moment Queen Coral stops talking.
Both Anemone and Turtle were animus. They weld power in their talons, they could do incredible things. Darkwater was animus too, he could be a hero, he could do amazing things. He first figured out he was animus was he was playfully talking to a stick on shore with boredom. He told it to dance for him, and it immediately started dancing. But he kept his powers a secret, knowing that his own mother would use him. Coral may even cause him to overuse his powers and go insane. No, I can't have that, Darkwater reminded himself. Too many dragons could get hurt, possibly even his own family. He shook the thought off and continued to pay attention to his mother.
There has been reports of "large, black flying thingies..." Coral's voice trailed off into a confused tone while she looked at Anemone for a moment or two before continuing. ...In the skies in the last couple of days. I have soon began to get multiple reports of this flying object by the other citizens of the Sea Kingdom.
Coral grabbed a long scroll from the ground beside her talons and unrolled it, revealing a simple drawing of a big black blob with a long tail and four diagonal lines coming from the top made with waterproof ink. In the corner of Darkwater's eye, Tsunami can be seen giving a prideful look with a small grin. She must've drew the picture, and she was certainly proud of it. Now, Coral flashed. The other tribes has seen this black creature also. It is some kind of intruder, and we need to keep an eye out for this thing.
Now, the siblings began to chitchat with each other again. Darkwater saw flashes of "large black thing? Will it kill us all?" and "the moment I see that creature, I'm killing it. I'm not taking any chances."
Darkwater looked at his sister, Tsunami. Do you think this 'large, black flying thingy' is a threat?
Tsunami shrugged at her brother's question. I think that creature is just spying on us. If it was really a threat, wouldn't it attack us by now?

Darkwater thought about that answer. The creature hasn't harmed any dragons for all he knows. It was only seen flying over Pyrrhia, probably even flying away. Then he assumes it comes back again. If the creature was intended to kill the dragons, wouldn't it have already done it?
Unless they were making a plan, Darkwater thought.

In the middle of the flashing commotion, Coral then flashed, you all may be dismissed.
Anemone was the first one to leave while the other heirs followed after her. While exiting the room, Darkwater kept wondering about that "large, black flying thingy".

Was it really a threat?
