Aaliyah POV

For the last 48 hours we have either been in and out of interrogation with detectives or checking our phones, hoping for an incoming call. I feel like complete shit, I keep asking myself why I didn't do more to save her.

We are now in a hotel, the whole group of us plus Ryan's parents and her sister Zee. We had been praying day in and day out, Quincy was a complete mess. He couldn't look Ryan's dad in the eye, he felt responsible I think in a way we all did. We should have been more careful.

*Knock Knock*

Karter opened the door and there stood the lead detective in the case, he spoke to all of us.

"I have some new information, but I will need you guys to sit down and hear me out" Detective Ealy said in a calm voice.

"Wait a minute, turn that up." Quincy said, referring to the tv.

"NYPD has discovered a young woman's body found near Brecon Hotel last night" said the CNN anchor

"NO! NO!" was all Ryan's mother could say.

"Ms. Lee and Mr. Young I will assure you that, that is not Ryan's body." Detective Ealy said with reassurance

"but I am here regarding the news. The body was of a young woman named Amira Alverez, she had been having relations with your daughter's ex boyfriend for the last two weeks. Until she was murdered by him and La'tonya Smith." He concluded.

"So they've gone completely insane and they have Ryan held captive, and her life is in their hands...what are you guys doing to find them? It's been two days and all you've managed to do is find new information that makes me even more scared" I shouted.

"we are doing our very best to get her back and catch these guys, please believe me. Get some rest and let me do my job and I will get Ryan back"

The room was quiet, Deanna, Bria, Justine were cradled together sobbing, the boys were comforting Quincy. Chris was massaging my shoulders. I was upset, fuming inside.

"Jay can't you contact your siste-"

"I tried, remember? Dectective Ealy asked me to call and we found out she disconnected her phone" Jay reminded me

My thoughts were interrupted by Jay's cellphone ringing.

"it's Tonya's best friend" he said a little lost.

"answer it, and put it on speaker" detective Ealy said eagerly.

"ayo, what's up?" he answered

"Jay?? Have you spoken to T?" La'Tonya's best friend Sky spoke into the phone sounding extremely nervous

"nah her phone is disconnected, why?" Jay asked, still holding a look of confusion

"She called me from a pay phone scared as hell, talking bout how she had to get away from Q for a while cause he was scaring her" she said, her voice laced with concern

I couldn't fathom how someone could have any kind of sympathy for that bitch, she was dick-matized by an obvious monster and she now wants to cry wolf because he turned on her. I couldn't wait to knock her and her bitch of a nigga out.

"did she tell you where she's at?" Jay asked.

"she told me she was staying at a Super 8 near Hunts Point." she said, a bit confused I guess because she's never been to New York so she had no clue where that was.

Detective Ealy immediately took out his pager and I guess notified police to get to that location right away.

"alright, thank you. If she calls you back don't tell her you called me" Jay informed her.

"wait wh-"

I hung up the phone.

"I'm going with you" said Jay to Det. Ealy.

"I'm coming too" I said.

"us too, Quincy let's go. We are going to find her" said Ryan's Dad reassuring Quincy that he wasn't disappointed in him.

"Fine" detective Ealy said without much of a fight.

Omniscient

"Jay you're gonna knock on the door, and when she opens it police will go in and arrest her. okay?" Det. Ealy reminded Jay of the plan.

"Yes sir" Jay said

You could tell it pained Jay to do this to his sister, he was very loyal and family was everything to him. Before Jay's mother killed herself, she told him that all se ever wanted is for her kids to go down the right path, and he felt that allowing his sister to follow that monster was not what his mother would have wanted. Reason why he HAD to turn her in.

Jay walked up to the door and knocked as directed.

"Jay? what are you-" was all La'Tonya managed to get out before she was tackled to the ground by NYPD.

Police checked the suite for any kind of evidence but they found nothing.

Because Police didn't want La'Tonya's arrest to be broadcasted on news channels the arrest was quick. Detective Ealy made it to the precinct and began interrogating La'Tonya.

"what happened after you and Q took Ryan?" He asked her.

"I ain't telling ya'll shit, I ain't no snitch and I also ain't no traitor like my bitch ass brother" she said, seemingly unfazed.

"She better tell him where the hell they took her or I swear I will fu-" Aaliyah was fuming behind the glass window of the interrogation room

"Aaliyah, have some faith in God. I believe they will find my daughter. so should you" Ryan's dad cut her off to reassure her.

Ryan's dad felt as though he had to keep everyone together. Even though he looked calm and collected he was furious and extremely terrified.

"You will be charged with murder, and kidnapping. So I suggest you go on and tell me the truth" Det. Ealy reminded La'Tonya

"I ain't snitching on my man" she declared.

"your man? if he is your man why did you tell your best friend you were afraid of him?" he asked

"because he got a little angry with me when he got her, so I thought giving him his space with her before he killed her would be a good thing and when he'd come back to me we could work things out" she said with a smirk.

"let me play you something" Det. Ealy pulled an iPhone out of a beige enveloppe. "This is a voicemail your "man" left on his friend's voice machine just last night, he was kind enough to give it to us as soon as he heard it, in exchange for less time on parole"

"I'mma need to get rid of that Tonya bitch... so Imma need you to rack up some of your guys to find her, tell her that I miss her or some bullshit. Call me back when you get this."

after the voicemail was played, La'Tonya was shocked.

"Start talking." Det. Ealy said.

"He's at one of his drug dealer friend's vacant lots, on Manida St." she said tears streaming down her face.

Det. Ealy got up and stormed out of the room.

"Head onto Manida st., it's 10 minutes away, that's where the suspect is holding Ryan" he said to a group of police men.

"Shots fired at 135 Manida St." was all that was heard from a police's dispatcher radio.

det. Ealy looked back at Ryan's Dad, best friend and boyfriend, fearful of what he might uncover at the scene.

"please bring my daughter home"...

I AM SORRY for the MAJOR delay, shits been busy in my life but I made time to make this chapter, I will try to be more consistent with these updates but I make no promises. Last year of high school is extremely stressful!!! But I hope you guys enjoy this chapter ❤️ AND SORRY AGAIN.
