My mom and Bryn left to go get me some decent food and a warm blanket.
Rachel comes in my room with the needles.
I squirm at the sight of them.
"Chill out."
"Okay..." I whine
Rachel comes over to my bed and does her "Rachel magic" as we call it, and boom all done.
"Hey, can you take me on a ride?" I say
"Sure, Addy!" Rachel says.
Rachel helps me into the wheelchair and wheels me out of the room.
"Where to today Add?"
"Room 351!"
"Sounds good."
As she rolls me down the hospital hallways I look into the rooms.
I see people who are sad, lonely, depressed, lost all hope.
But there is one man on the way to room 351.
I look into his room and he is older probably in his 80's and he is laughing and smiling.
He doesn't have that look of sadness in his eyes, instead it's a light.
I we roll past I smile and say Hello, he nods and gives me a big ole
I need to be like him and keep that light in my eyes.
"Hey Lily!"
I smile seeing her playing with Snuffles the bear.
"ADDY!"
"How's it going darlin?"
"Uh okay!" she says with a little smirk.
Lily is 6, she was diagnosed with Leukemia about 5 months ago.
I met Lily when I came here for my 3rd week of chemo, she was that bubbly little girl with no hair coming for her first treatment.
Lily and I clicked right away, she made me do goofy things with her and made me feel like a kid again.
We would color, have fashion shows, and so much more.
This little girl I love dearly, she makes coming to chemo less miserable.
"So what's the plans for today Lil?"
"Emily,(her nurse) said I can't pway today."
Lily's Leukemia is getting worse, so she isn't getting better.
"Okay sweetie, should I come back tomorrow?"
"Yeah!"
