TWO. CHINESE TAKE-OUT DATES

            >> TWO: write a chapter in which a female character uses a catcall to grab a male’s attention, contradicting standard stereotypes.

AVERY CANNOT STOP herself from taking her eyes off a clothing store, it may seem a little bit of an obsession but Valentine’s day means a whole lot of 50% off but the fact that every general clothing has its own male version of a pair and all she can do is to think that she has an imaginary boyfriend or at least imagine that the five year old is a hormonal nineteen year old instead.

She sighs, 50% off hurts a whole lot.

Freya Academy isn’t hard to find after all, she says. She is very grateful that it is a block behind Forever 21 and all she can think is that her life is starting to be perfection itself. Wearing a winter coat in February is sort of necessary because it is quite cold and the first few weeks made her curse because it wasn’t this cold, it was too much. She thought she could be wearing shorts instead she is given a choice: revealing lingerie or snow man’s clothes which she picks a whole lot of clothing beneath her coat.

“Excuse me,” she whispers. Everyone snickers as they look at her: what’s the matter, girl? Can’t you just shut up and walk? Can someone spare the half-British teen who seems to feel sexually harassed because she is surrounded by boys who are the twice of her age who could be secretly touching her ass or pinch the side of her hips with an excuse that it is too crowded.

A useful day at the university would be a bag of bagels, she sees the big sign of Crispy Crème with a huge tarpaulin sign that fresh bagels baked every morning and the thing about this is she is as confident that this take-out food would be hers in a minute but from the look of it, a raging line full of adults wait impatiently as they are attached to their phones shouting and if ever she tries to cut, she might as well be thrown a cell phone at the head but thank god she has a bushy head.

At least she wasn’t affected much when her schoolmate a.k.a Queen Bitch did hit her hard in dodge ball, but the only affection she could give to the Queen herself is a menacing laugh.

After some minutes of waiting, she finally gets inside and she buys three bagels enough to supply full energy. I am so ready to meet Professor Edith, I will make her see that I am a goddess…in feminism, I suppose. She leaves the shop only with a surprise of a catcall from a police officer.

“Hey hotshot, you are under arrested for breaking a law, I suppose you know what I mean.” She winks at Avery’s direction and she could only stand there numbly. Oh yes, the stereotypical New Yorker would be catcalled by a construction worker but never did she realize a police woman would do so to her. Is she…homosexual?

Avery’s hand turn into a pointing finger and she directs it to herself and the cop cringed and makes a disgusted look pointing to the boy behind her. The freshman for college was at shock as her mouth turns to an ‘O’, she looks behind her to see a boy who may be ten times hotter than Michael Connor.

“What?” He whispers loudly. “I am an American citizen who has no crime record yet, search up for Adrian—never mind, my name isn’t Adrian.”

She shrieks. “I mean that a hottie like you shouldn’t be having a tasty meal to himself, he should share it to the needy and I need that but sure Adrian, I would be seeing a whole lot of you sooner. Don’t forget to stay under the radar.”
