"Arabella?" it was mom.
"Yes mother?" I asked politely.
"It's time for dinner darling..." she said.
I got up and walked towards my mother. She gave me a small smile. I returned it.
I closed the door of my room softly behind me and followed my mother to the dining room. It was dinner.
One of those special times when I could be with my whole family at once.
It was the time when my family and I could sit down and not talk about political things. It was when we could just sit down and talk about life.
How our day went, what we had used our power for. Just normal or abnormal stuff. I am a fairy.
I have powers. And I live in a fairy realm.
Being a fairy is probably the best thing in my life. Well it kind of is the best thing in my life.
In the fairy realm, everyone worships our family.
My dad is the King so obviously everyone respects us. We love each other dearly. And my family is not one to brag or anything.
We love our people too.
We always remind them to treat us the same as they treat each other. I have many friends which are non-fairies. They are normal, fun, and most of all they like me for me.
Yes, there are those people who only want to be your friend becaise your someone important. Because you hold a high position.
But my friends are different.
They are the best friends I have. Lindsay, Conner, Lacey, Ben and of course my brother Christian.
They love me for me. And nothing can break the bond we have.
I arrived at the dining table. Dad was seated at one end of the table and Christian was sitting next to him.
They smiled once they saw me and mom.
Mom took her place at the other end of the table and I sat next to her. We sat like this every day.
It was almost like a tradition. As expected, Christian started a conversation first.
"So Arabella, how was your day?"
"Um, it was alright I guess, I grew new flowers and decorated my window with vines..." I replied while looking down at my food. It was just some rose water and fresh vines.
Delicious.
"What about you Christian? What did you do?" dad asked. "Well, I hung out with Alexander and Tino today. We went cycling down to the magic pond..." Christian replied.
He was happy.
Christian was always happy when he talked about his adventures with the boys. They had known each other since the day they were born.
"Hmmm" mom hummed. "Someone's not talking much today..." I looked up at mom. I just stared at her.
Was she talking about me?
"Hmm Arabella?" mom asked. "What?" I asked. "You are in deep thought darling..." mom stated. "I am not!" I defended myself. "Arabella dear calm down, mom was just asking..." dad said calmly.
"Right, I'm truly sorry mom..." I apologized. I didn't mean to snap at mom, I just had a hard day is all. It's hard being cooped up in a room all day.
Yes, I said I had friends but, they had their own problems to attend to. I was not allowed to interfere with the people's work amd such.
That meant not being able to help my friends.
It was a stupid rule but it worked. It just made the people less dependent on the rulers for everything.
My mom and dad didn't want the people to depend on them for everything. They wanted their people to be independent and hardworking.
Not lazy and too dependent on them.
The rest of the dinner went along smoothly. I talked more and before I knew it, I had to go to sleep. Tomorrow was another day and hopefully it would ne better.

"98"
"99"
"Urgh"
"100"
I collapsed to the floor. 100 pushups. Dad would be proud. I stood back up. I didn't want to look weak. Especially not in front of Devin.
"Tomorrow we try 50 but with me sitting on your back little bro" Devin said proudly before slapping me on the back and walking into the house.
I collapsed back onto the soft grass and turned to face the sky. It was a beautiful day. And I wished I could stay here forever.
This was the human world.
The people that were called humans lived here. I knew there were such beings that were called fairies that lived in another dimension or realm.
Whatever it was called.
My dad never talked about it. Nor did my mom. They were too busy doing whatever reaserch they could to find amd kill fairies. I personally didn't know what was wrong with fairies.
I didn't hate them, but I didn't like them either. My two older brothers Devin and Baxter had told me horrible stories about them. That they looked evil with long sharp nails and crooked teeth.
I don't believe it 100%, but I don't fully disbelief it. Both my brothers have gone fairy hunting and they claim to have seen fairies.
But I really don't believe them. Sometimes they lie to me so that I will be jealous of them. To them it's just a joke but to me it kind of feels real.
It's like mom and dad only put their faith in them and not me. It feels like I'm no use to them.
I got up.
It was starting to get hotter so I decided to go in. Hopefully one day dad will have faith in me.
