I squinted my eyes as they adjusted to the growing darkness in the room. I could see Richie, standing farther away from me, in bed staring at the ceiling. He was whispering about something, I just couldn't put my finger on it. "Why doesn't she? What's not to like?" he mumbled, but the emptiness of the room caused it to echo greatly. "Is because of how I look? Maybe I tried too hard. Well, no going back now because I left my glasses at the Quarry, probably gone by now so that's fucking fantastic." he said quickly. " I talk too much. If I want her to like me, I have to learn to shut up." he said. "Oh god, help me." he said, tossing around trying to fall asleep. Yet I could hear every thought he had, banging against him. All of them about why he isn't good enough. "Wake." I whispered. Instantly, he gasped, opening his eyes. "Kennedy?" he asked, sounding as if he's on the verge of tears. "Richie, relax. Stop worrying that you're not good enough. Kennedy would be lucky to have you. Just, trying talking to her. You think youy talk to much," I swalloed hard thinking of what to say next. "she's a great listener." I said, sounding more thoughtfully in depth than I thought I would. As he began to drift into a more serene sleep, I returned to the darkness. " Hello?" I asked into the void, hearing it echo everywhere. Every last breath I took became heavier and heavier, colder and colder. Like death was creeping up behind me. "Hello, Sara." said someone, glowing yellow eyes. Stepped forward a handsome man, who didn't look to old for his age. "I can help you. Come closer." he said. Suddenly I was drifting closer to him. "I'll speak to the boy. Help you." he breathed. "You do want to speak to him right?" he asked, sounding twisted. "Yes." I said, glowing red eyes, as black tattoo seeming vines grew up my back. "Awake." he screeched, and I gasped.
