Taylor's POV

I woke up this morning with this feeling that I've never really felt before. I felt proud of myself, I sang, and was successful at it. This only makes me want to pursue my music career even more.

I woke up at about 8:30 am this morning, which never usually happens. And as I was walking down the stairs, passing by the dining room, I noticed there was some stuff on the table that was never there before.

I walk over to the table to find a big bouquet of flowers. And since Ryan is gone all day, I figured I'd snoop. I opened the little card attached to the flowers that said:

There was not enough room on this tiny piece of paper to tell you what needed to be said, so we wrote you a letter. It's in the turquoise envelope.

I then begin to open the envelope to find a sheet of paper with a lot of writing on it. It read:

Dear Taylor,

We know that as your grandmother and your grandfather or whom you like to call "papa" are supposed to be there to love you and respect any decisions you make in life. We also know that we haven't done a very good job of doing that. I know it has been a while since we have seen you, or even as little as sent you an email. And for that, we are truly sorry, from the bottom of our hearts. We abandoned you, looked down on you, and doubted you. I still remember when you were 5. You took my wooden spoon and stood up in front of the mirror all day. Wearing my high heels and you would sing in that mirror all day long. You told me that one day you were going to be a singer when you grew up. And I looked at you and said "The odds of that happening are slim to none". But look at you now. Up on that stage, singing with your fiancé, whom I told you, "you won't marry him Taylor, give your head a shake" I need to give my head a shake. All of those years I was wrong. Very very wrong. You are bright, strong, beautiful, and succeeding. Congratulations.

Sincerely, Grandma & Papa.

I read the letter with tears streaming down my face. I thought I'd ever hear from them again. But I did so I'm happy.

I grab a bowl of fruit from the kitchen, and a glass of orange juice and trot off to the music room.

I sit at the piano, stuffing my face with cantaloupe, unable to come up with any ideas.

I've already gone through about half of my notebook, trying to come up with something.

*Ring Ring* *Ring Ring*

My phone goes off, I answer it right away, trying to distract myself from writing.

"Hello"

"Hey babe, how's your day going?" Ryan questions through the phone.

"Ugh. Fantastic." I groan, and start to speak with more sarcasm then I was intending.

"Okay, what's wrong?"

"I can't come up with any ideas for a new song, I've been working at it for almost 3 hours now"

"It's okay, you'll get it, be patient, these things take time"

"You should be a motivational speaker you're so good!" I chuckle.

"Yeah, I know. I try" he chuckles back. "so anyway, I called to let you know that I'll be home late tonight"

"Okay, that's fine! do what you gotta do, I'll call the girls over, and we'll do something"

"Okay, don't have too much fun without me!" he scolded.

"Oh don't worry we will!" I chuckle.

"Bye babe. mwah!" he kisses me through the phone.

"Mwah! bye!"
