As I ran through the crowd the battle restarted.
We ran inside and I lay her down in the bed.
"I need water to flush the wound and the herbs such as rosemary and clove," I replied.
"Where did you learn this?" He asked.
"I learned it from her," I smiled slightly.
"What?" He asked.
"Ya... she said she read a book well a play," I shrugged.
I grabbed a cloth and began dabbing the gash.
"Do you love her?" He asked.
The question caught me off guard. Was it that obvious?
"Pardon?" I asked.
"Do you love my daughter?" He asked again.
"........yes." I answered shyly.
He took a breath.
"Do you think she loves you?" He asked.
"I-I...Yes," I nodded.
"She does," he nodded.
I couldn't help but smile.
"Darn this war," he swore under his breath.
She moaned.
He stood standing next to me.
"Flower! Are you ok?" He asked.
"I have a headache," she moaned.
He laughed slightly.
Her fingers softly wrapped around mine.
"Hon. I know. I know you love him," he spoke.
Her eyes brightened.
"It's ok," he spoke squeezing her shoulder.
"Oh papa," she smiled kissing his hand.
She began to lean up.
"Hey. Lay down. You need to rest," I smiled.
"Mom. Abigail," she shook her head.
"Flower what's wrong?" He asked.
"That major. He has men with mom and Abigail at-at gun-gun point," she shook her head.
"It's ok. I'm going to go get her," her father ran out the door.
"Nate. What did he mean?" She frowned.
"It's ok.... I think. He seemed ok with it," I nodded.
"Oh Nate. When I found out that my father was planning to take back New York... I was so worried about you!" A tear slipped down her cheek.
"Hey. Hey. I'm ok. Your going to be ok. Everything with be fine," I kissed her holding her against my chest.
She nodded slightly.

I grabbed a few of my men and burst into my home. I fought before making my way up the stairs.
"Peggy!" I yelled.
"John!" She yelled emerging from Adella's room.
I rushed over.
"Are you ok?" I asked.
She nodded.
"Adella!" She spoke.
"It's ok! It's ok! She's fine she is at the infirmary with that Major that always escorted her," I spoke.
She look confused.
"I'll explain later. Where Abigail?" I asked.
"She's ok She is in Adella's room cleaning up to broken glass," she shook her head.
"Glass?" I asked.
"I through a shoe through the window to try and alert you!" She replied.
"Mission Accomplished," I laughed.
