I sat at the breakfast table, slowly sipping my tea.
"Flower? Are you ok?" He asked.
"..... Pardon? Oh yes. It's just a lot... you know being home again. I really missed you both," I smiled.
"Oh darling we missed you too!" My mother beamed.

~~~ Nate~~
I sat there thinking about her. It had barley been about 18 hours.
"Nate! Nate!" My mothers voice yelled.
"Uh! What! Uh!" I shot up.
"I called your name just about 8 times. I know it's hard hon. You just have to trust and love," she smiled.
"I miss her," I smiled weakly.
"Ya, I know," she nodded.
~~~Adella~~~
"Darlings. I need you both and Abigail to go into Adellas room and wait until a red coat comes and gets you. We are taking back New York!" He beamed.
I almost spit out my tea. Nate.
"That's great Father!" I nodded my heart sinking.
"Be careful love," my mother begged.
"Of course!" He nodded.
He hugged us. Kissed my mother. And then left. We ran up the steps.

Nate. Oh Nate please don't come. But I knew he would.

~~Nate~~
I rode back into New York with my men.
Gunshot.
They were revolting. How had the redcoats gotten free?!
We charged into the battle. As we were fighting, I heard a female scream. And glass shatter.

~~~ Adella~~
The door propped open.
"Father?" I asked.
A major I had seen around camp emerged. Major Ben didn't like him. He had a gun.
"Stay calm and freeze and I won't shoot!" He yelled.
We froze.
He came towards me. So close I could smell his horrific breath.
He yanked my arm.
"No! Please take me!" My mother begged.
"Don't take her!" Abigail yelled.
"You two stay there. We have men just outside," he yelled clutching my arm so hard I knew there would be a bruise.
We pulled me down the steps.
I tripped and ripped the hem of my dress. I felt my loose hair fall out of its style. He yanked me out into the street cause if me to trip into the road.  I let out a scream.
~~~Nate~~~
I knew that scream.
I glanced at Major Andre. He turned and bolted towards the noise. It was Adella.
I turned and rushed towards her. I didn't let anyone stand in my way.

~~~Andre~~
I saw that captain Nate rush in the direction. It clicked.
~~~Nate~~
I rushed forward to see Adella lying on the road. She was unconscious. Oh Lord! Please don't let her be dead. Andre slid next to his daughter.
"What are you doing!" I yelled at the major.
"Watch your tone with a superior!" He barked.
My father emerged.
"Then I'll ask. What are you doing!" He yelled.
"I thought," he began.
"You thought! You thought! You abandoned your post indangering the entire army!!!" He yelled.
"Is she ok?" I asked Andre.
"I-I don't know," he began.
"May I?" I asked.
He hesitated. He nodded.
I knelt examining the gash.
"I think she will be ok;" I felt for a pulse.
"Oh thank the Lord," he nodded.
"She needs to be taken to an infirmary," I replied.
"This way!" He pointed.
Did he expect me to pick her up?
I picked her up. Holding her to my chest.
