Chapter 3

Anna and I made our way to the cafeteria. She would always make way to open up the topic about what happened a while ago. I'm still in cloud nine and I couldn't even speak properly.

“You like him.” She said studying my face. “No! What? No” I denied not being able to look at her. She cannot find out that I like Dave. Even though she's cool and nice, no one should know my feelings for him.

The first time I found out that Priscilla liked Dave, I decided to move forward and forget all my feelings. So I decided from then on, not to tell anyone about it. It felt like I was forbidden to like him because my best friend likes him as well.

She just smiled and nodded. One thing I noticed about her is she's very understanding, and the fact that she was fangirling over what happened than me, made me like her even more.

As we went inside the cafeteria and head towards Priscilla's table, “What took you so long?” she said in an annoyed voice. She already has food in her table. Typical Priscilla.

“Sorry, Mrs. Grenda gave us a hard time.” I blurt out and looked over at Anna where her eyebrows are slightly raised and just nodded. I smiled and introduced her to Priscilla. “This is Anna, she's in my class. Anna this is Priscilla.”

“Hi! You're new here right? Anna Winston?” I wouldn't be surprised if she already knew her. She's really good at knowing all the names around here. She start to gain new friends because she will be running for the student body organization in our campus. Her dad wanted her to run.

“Yes, nice meeting you.” She smiled as we get food and ate.

“Are you kidding me?! Nessa, we're not alone here. Anna likes TBC too!” Priscilla said after knowing Anna likes the place. “I know right, told yah.” I said as I took a bite of my burger.

“We should all eat together at The Burger Club this Friday night.” Anna suggested with twinkle in her eyes.

“Oh I can't, I need to attend a party, actually, WE need to attend a party, right Nessa?” She looks at me as if reminding me about it. I almost forgot about that, she has been forcing me to come with her since last week. Not only she wants to gain more friends but the fact that Dave will definitely be there, is her main reason.

Our first party encounter was in 11th grade and it didn't go well, for me at least. She forced me to come with her for a month. I didn't really want to go because parties are not my thing. Plus, it will make my dad worry. But I don't even know how I ended up going to that party. She got way too drunk and I had to take care of her, it's like basically I babysitted her. I took her home to our house for her mother might kill her if she saw her daughter like that.

I rolled my eyes knowing I don't really have a choice. I mean, who will be there if she gets drunk again or who knows what might happen to her.

“Anna, you should come with us.” She offered, Anna thinks for a second and looked over at me as I pleaded with my eyes, I want her to come. “Yeah sure, that will be fun.” She smiles as Priscilla claps her hands cheerfully.

“We should definitely buy new clothes.” Priscilla suggests and took a sip of her drink.

“I think I'm okay.” I said as she held my hand, “Nessa, it's okay I'm going to pay don't worry, I insist.” I raise my eyebrows, she's acting weird today.

“Anna, don't worry too I got it all covered.” I look over at Anna and her expression is almost the same as mine. “Oh no, it's okay. I don't... really need to buy one. I think I already have something to wear.” She says as Priscilla nods.

“You and I darling should go shopping, alright? Dave might notice me again considering that he already knows me? Right?” I suddenly looked over at Anna and her eyes were widely opened. I hit her with my foot below the table, and she immediately realized it and acted normal.
