The floor collapsed. I weakly pulled myself up and saw that i had fallen with Steve and Tony. "Put on the suit! You too Emi!" Steve said. "Yep!" Tony and i said at the same time and ran off. I quickly ran into my room which wasn't destroyed and quickly put on my uniform. http://www.polyvore.com/emi_asi/set?id=123519168 I then heard something about engine 3 in my ear piece. It sounded like Tony. I frowned about how i could hear them. But right now i didn't care. I ran to engine 3 which i'm glad i took a walk with Steve. If i haven't, i wouldn't know where to go. "Good. See what we got." I heard Tony's voice in my ear piece when i arrived. "Steve." I instantly said. "Emi!" He exclaimed giving me a hug, and a tight one. "I gotta get this super conducting cooling system back online before I can access the rotors and work on dislodging the debris." Tony said. "I'm fine Steve." I said as we broke the hug. Steve gave me a warm smile as his eyes twinkled. Tony then got our attention and talked to Steve, "I need you to get to that engine control panel and tell me which relays are in overload position." Steve nodded and gestured for me to stay. Steve easily got himself to the engine panel and opened it. "What's it look like in there?" Tony asked waiting for a response. "It seems to run on some form of electricity." Steve replied. I smiled shaking my head. "Well, you're not wrong." Tony said making me chuckle. It may seem weird, but i always keep a smile at the worst times to make people feel a little better. "The relays are intact. What's our next move?" Steve said as he closed the engine panel. "Even if I clear the rotors, this thing won't re-engage without a jump. I'm gonna have to get in there and push." Tony said. "Well if that thing gets up to speed, you'll get shredded!" Steve said just as i was about to say, pretty much the same thing. "Then stay in the control unit and reverse polarity long enough to disengage mag..." Steve and i then cut him off, "Speak English!" We both yelled. "See that red lever?" Tony asked. I turned my head and instantly saw it. "It'll slow the rotors down long enough for me to get out. Stand by it, wait for my word." Steve and i nodded. I lifted myself up onto the rail and stood near the red lever. "It's Barton, he took our systems. He's headed for the detention lab. Does anybody copy?" I heard Fury sat. "This is Agent Romanoff. I copy." Natasha said. I shook my head and tried to concentrate. But then, some throw a grenade. "Got it." Steve said instantly jumping and pushing the grenade somewhere else before it could explode. Steve landed on the other side. "Just stay there!" He yelled to me. Another grenade was thrown and Steve did the same action. "Here!" I said throwing Steve my spare gun. I took out my own and shot the first agent we saw. But then, i heard something collapse. I turned around and saw Steve holding onto something like rope, dangling in the sky. "Steve!" I exclaimed and leaned over the side. "Grab my hand!" I yelled trying to grab Steve's arm. Then, i felt pain on my shoulder. I hissed in pain and gritted my teeth. "Cap, Emi, need a lever" Tony had said. "We need a minute here!" Steve said as he saw me in pain. I looked at his eyes and they were full of worry. "Lever! Now!" Tony yelled. I almost slipped, but quickly got my balance. I reached out to Steve, now able to grab his arm. I pulled him up. But the agent started to shoot again. We ducked down and Steve reached up and pulled the lever. I quickly saw Tony flying past and knocked down the agent. I sighed in relief. "You ok Emi?" Steve asked helping me up. "Yeah i'm fine." I said, but quickly flinched when he touched my wound. "Come, we need to fix your shoulder.

We were in the main room. Tony, Steve and i were sitting down while a nurse was treating my wound. "These were in Phil Coulson's jacket. Guess he never did get you to sign them." Fury said as he threw superhero trading cards on the table. A tear rolled down my eye. He and i may not be very close, but he was my friend and i trusted him. "We're dead in the air up here. Our communications, location of the cube, Banner, Thor. I got nothing for you. Lost my one good eye. Maybe I had that coming." Fury paused for a moment thinking. "Yes, we were going to build an arsenal with the Tesseract. I never put all my chips on that number though, because I was playing something even riskier." Fury admitted. "There was an idea, Stark knows this and maybe even Emi, called The Avengers Initiative. The idea was to bring together a group of remarkable people, see if they could become something more. See if they could work together when we needed them to, to fight the battles that we never could. Phil Coulson died still believing in that idea, in heroes." Tony quickly stood up and started to walk off. "Well, it's an old fashioned notion." Fury said turning around, his back facing towards us. I breathed in, and out. "Done." The nurse said to me packing her stuff. "Thank you." I mumbled, but loud enough for her to hear. She nodded at me and walked off. I looked at Steve as saw that he was staring at me. I gave him a light smile. He smiled back at me.

Steve's POV

I couldn't help it. Her beauty was bright. Her personality flowing. They way her red hair would fly. Her green emerald eyes sparkling. The way that she would smile at the darkest of times. They way she would laugh would make me smile. The smell of flowers on her, everyday. The moment i saw her, i couldn't breathe for a minute. I was staring at Emi. She turned her head a looked at me. She gave a small smile. Her eyes red from crying. I smiled at her back, trying to comfort her. "Come here." I said to her. She moved closer to me. I spread out my arms and she went in them. I wrapped my arms around her protectively as she moved from her chair to sit on my lap. "It's ok." I said soothingly. "It'll be ok." I continued, rubbing her back and placing my head over hers. I kissed her head and continued to rub her back. I blushed, just from kissing her head. I didn't want to change things between us, but i can't help having these feelings about her. The only question on my mind right now was, does she like me back?
