Ch:15 Final Stage

Ch:15 Final Stage

Toy started to fly closer and closer to us, along with the giant skeleton looking like monster behind him. "Dr. Banner." Steve said stepping forward towards him. "Now might be a really good time for you to get angry." Steve said finishing his sentence. Bruce started to walk forward, "That's my secret Captain, I'm always angry." And with that, Bruce turned into the Hulk. My eyes widened at the sight. Hulk then punched the giant worm right in the face. Also causing it to do what it looked like, a back flip. I noticed that it would fall back on us. "Umm." I started until Tony started talking, "Hold on!" Tony flew above us and fired mini missals so the tail of the monster, causing it not to fall on us. Instead, it exploded into a million large pieces. Steve instantly grabbed my arm, dragged me into a crouching position and used his shield to protect us from the sharp pieces.

"Thank you." I said as we stood back up.

"No worries." He replied to me.

We then all stood in a circle. "Are we done?" Steve asked looking around. "Guys." Natasha said looking up at the sky. I looked up and saw more Chitauri warriors and the worm like things flying out, "Call it Captain." Tony said. "Alright, listen up. Until we can close that portal up there, we're gonna use containment." Steve turned to Bruce, "Barton, I want you on that roof, eyes on everything. Call out patterns and strays." Steve then turned to Tony, "Stark, you got the perimeter. Anything gets more than three blocks out, you turn it back or your turn it to ash." Clint nodded and looked at Tony, "Wanna give me a lift?" He asked. "Right. Better clench up, Legolas." Tony said, lifting Clint off the ground to to the roof. I chuckled when i heard Tony say 'Legolas'. And before you ask, yes, i am a Ringer. "Thor, you've gotta try and bottleneck that portal, slow them down. You've got the lightning, light the bastards up." I was surprised that Steve just swore. My eyebrows raised and i bet everyone could tell that i looked amused. "Us three, we stay here on the ground, keep the fighting here." Steve then looked at Hulk. "And Hulk," Steve pointed a finger at him while Hulk's head snapped towards Steve, "smash!" Hulk smiled and jumped from the ground onto the buildings. The three of us ran off, making sure that we're not too far away from each other. I got out one of my guns and started to shoot the Chitauri warriors around me, making sure that i don't get too hurt. What i didn't expect would happen, happened. One of the Chitauri warriors jumped on my back, but before it could do me any harm, i tumbled forward (and by that, i mean when you do like a roll on the ground but you do it, starting with your head, you push forward to do a little roll on your back) quickly took an arrow from my quiver and struck it in its face. I took my bow from my back and swinged it down, hitting one of the Chitauri warriors leg, making it fly back.

Next thing i know it, the three of us were close again. I took out my daggers and did what i could, but also earned a few scratches on my face. "Captain, none of this is gonna mean a damn thing if we don't close that portal." Natasha said as she was shooting. "Our biggest guns couldn't touch it." Steve stated. "Well, maybe it's not about guns." Natasha replied, stopped shooting and looked at Steve and i. "You wanna get up there, you're gonna need a ride." Steve told. "I got a ride. I could use a lift though. Natasha said, referring to the Chitauri on the ship thingy. "Are you sure about this?" Steve asked, getting into the right position. "Yeah, it's gonna be fun." She replied, backing a bit. Natasha then ran forward. Steve then gave her boost with his shield and Natasha jumped up onto one of the hover boards. "Its just us now." I said, getting back to fighting.

We continued to fight a bit more but then Steve got struck down. I quickly went to Steve's side while Thor hit a car with his hammer, causing the car to go over the Chitauri close by. "You ready for another bout?" Thor asked Steve.

"What, you gettin' sleepy?" Steve replied. I smiled shaking my head.

"I can close it! Can anybody hear me? I can shut the portal down!" I heard Natasha in my earpiece say. "Do it!" Steve instantly said. "No, wait!" Tony said. "Tony, these things are still coming!" I said, almost yelling.

"I got a nuke coming in, it's gonna blow in less than a minute." Tony pauses for a minute. "And I know just where to put it." He finished. I felt my heart beat increasing. By fear. "Stark, you know that's a one way trip." Steve said. A flash of metal was seen in the sky. I looked up and saw Tony with the nuke in his arms. Tony then used the last of the power in his suit and flew straight through the portal. We couldn't see anything after that. We all looked at Steve, unsure of what to do or say. "Close it." Steve said to Natasha. Natasha started to close the portal. But i felt a quick pain in my stomach. I looked down. There, a dagger was stabbed into my stomach by one of the Chitauri warriors. I feel down onto the ground. The amount of blood that i had lost was effecting me. I looked to my left, i landed near the warrior that had stabbed me. The Chitauri were dead, all of them. "Emi, keep you eyes open! Please!" I distantly heard Steve say, though, he was right in front of me. My body on Steve's lap. He was shaking me, but i couldn't. My breath slowed down. I looked to my right and saw a red and gold metal suit flying down. "Steve." I chocked out. I could feel the blood oozing out of my body. "Emi, you can't die on me now." Steve said. A few cold water droplets fell onto my face. I realised Steve was crying. I closed my eyes. It was my time. The last thing i heard was someone saying "I love you." Then, i fell to darkness.
