Part 1.

June 10th, oh how I've been looking forward to this day. What a great day! Or not. Honestly... I don't really feel like moving from Manchester to some town called Stevenage with my mum and her new, fat and incredibly ugly boyfriend.

"Honey, wake up! You need to get ready. We are leaving in one hour" my mum shouts from somewhere down stairs.

"Yeah, yeah" I mumble and wrap the blanket closer around my body.

I'm so not getting up. I'm not leaving. I'm staying right here, where I have my life and friends. What am I supposed to do in Stevenage? Start on a new school and be the weird new kid? Yay, I'm so excited. Best day of my life!

"Olivia, get up!" my mum says the same second she steps into my room.

"Nope, sorry, mum. I won't get up and I won't move" I say and pull the blanket over my head.

"Don’t start again, please. Not today" my mum begs.

I look at her as she sits down on the edge of my bed. My bed that also is the only furniture left in my room here in Manchester.

"But I don't want to leave the life I got here, I like it" I say.

"I know, honey. I know. But this is the way it is so you just got to live with it. You will find new friends in Stevenage and it's so much closer to London and I know how much you love shopping" she says.

"But I don't care. It will never be the same. I will never meet the kind of people I've grown up with here" I reply.

"No, you will never be able to replace your friends here. But, your scale of friends can always get bigger. Now, get up"

Ugh, sometimes I really hate my mother for always knowing what to say. She always say the right things, which means that she almost always win our arguments.

"Fine" I sigh and get up.

My mum gets up and leaves my room. Ugh, why did we have to move today?  It better start raining, because I refuse to sit in a car and then unpack all my stuff if it sunny outside.

I sigh and grab the clothes that are lying on a cardboard, one of very few that are left. It's a pair of shorts, a floral top and a grey cardigan. I put my dark, brown hair up in a sloppy ponytail and walk over to the door. At the door, I turn around and look at my room. The white walls and wooden floor, I will never be in this room again.

“Olivia! We are leaving in just 15 minutes!” My mum shouts.

I slowly walk into the bathroom to put on some make up before I walk downstairs. My mum and her boyfriend, Alan, already stand by the door, ready to go.

“I thought we were going in 15 minutes?” I say.

“No, that was 10 minutes ago!” says Alan.

I roll my eyes and starts walking to the kitchen.

“Olivia, we are leaving now” says Alan loudly.

“I need to eat” I reply, without stopping or looking back.

“We don’t have time for that. Get back here so we can leave, the moving truck left a few minutes ago” he says.

“Honey, there is nothing left. We will stop and buy you something on the way” I hear my mum’s voice say the same second I step into a very empty kitchen.

“Aw, come on!” I complain, loudly.

I, then, walk out to the hallway with angry steps. I don’t even bother putting my shoes on, I just take them in my hand and then leave the house. My feet take me to driveway where a dark blue car is parked and I slump down on the ground.

“Come on now, time to go” My mum says when they finally come out.

After something that feels like a lifetime, but really is 3 and a half hour we finally arrive to Stevenage. Well, maybe I shouldn't say “finally” because I still hate this and the day isn’t getting any better since it’s sunny and really warm outside today.

Alan turns right and park the car on a driveway by a cute little brick house where the second floor is in a cream white colour with a few dark brown planks at some places, and the house is located in a neighbourhood that seems pretty nice. I step out of the car and look around.

“Mum, do I really have to unpack my stuff right now?” I say and look at her.

“No, you can do it later. You can take a look around if you want to” she replies and smiles.

Alan is just about to say something but I interrupt him by thanking my mum. I turn to Alan and smile as big as I can just to annoy him then I turn around and starts walking away from there. I wonder what kind of people lives here in Stevenage. Will the teenagers accept me or just ignore me because I’m the new girl from Manchester? Almost everybody I’ve met so far has looked at me, with looks that proves that they don’t know me and never seen me before. I look down on the ground and kick a small stone so it bounces over the pavement, then I hear laughs which make my eyes to look up again. My eyes see a group of teenagers in my own age laughing and goofing around. They notice me when they get closer and they all look at me. I meet the glance from one of the guys and his brown eyes, that also have a small touch of green, makes me paralyzed.
