"Hey, don't forget, rent is due next week," Phil called. He hung his head into the office and I quickly spun around in my chair.
"I remember. Can I pay you my half in cash so you can just pay it all in full?" I asked.
"It's what you normally do. I don't expect you to change now," he sighed. "Hey, Dan?"
"Yeah?"
"Wanna tell me what you do for a living?"
"Not a chance," I chuckled. "So what time are you going out with Cat tonight?"
"Six. Same as usual."
"Oh, well, have fun."
"I always do. Hey, why don't you go out sometime?"
"What do you mean?"
"You never date."
"I do too," I fought.
"One night stands you say you'll call, but never do don't count."
"I could easily date any girl I wanted to."
"Then why not do it?"
"Because I'm busy, Phil. Plus, has it ever occurred to you that I like being alone?"
"Whatever, enjoy your alone time."
"I will," I smiled. "Have fun on your date."
"I will," he sighed. "I'm assuming you won't be here tomorrow morning."
"Mhmm," I hummed, getting up from my desk chair.
"Okay, where the hell do you work?"
"You're funny." I pinched his cheek and walked out of the room. "If I were you, I wouldn't be asking questions about where my money comes from. Just be glad that I pay rent."
"You're not a hitman, are you?"
"I'm gonna go take a nap."
"Dan!"
"See you later!"
