Callie walked into the house and rest of the family had just sat down at the table. "Perfect timing Love," Stef said. I was just taking the chicken out of the oven. Where is Wyatt? You said he was joining us." She shakes her head and looks at Brandon. "I'm gonna go wash up." She says softly and runs upstairs. "I'm gonna go talk to her." Lena says standing up, "No, let me. These two weeks driving together we became close again." Brandon says standing and heads upstairs. He knocks on the bathroom door and opens it slowly. Callie was crying over the sink, "Why?" she says softly after looking who it was. Brandon shuts the door, "Why what?" He asks walking closer to her. Callie pulls out a folded piece of paper "He broke up with me, because of this." She handed him the sheet music and walked out. "Tell moms I'm not up to eating." She walked into her room and slammed the door. Brandon opened the paper, but he knew what it was. He looked down at the music and sighed. He walked out of the bathroom and slid the paper under Callie's door and headed back downstairs. "She had a rough afternoon, she doesn't feel like eating with us." He says and sits down. He didn't say anything rest of the meal. Mariana spent most of it talking about boys and people, and everything at school. Brandon just blocked her voice out. He thought about the fact that he messed Callie's relationship up. He never meant for her to know the song was about her, for her. How could he be so careless and leave his bag behind? "Okay guys! It's time to head out for the match." Lena says putting dishes into the sink. "Momma, I think I'm gonna stay and work on my paper due tomorrow. I'll finish cleaning up." Brandon says taking a dish from Lena. She sighed but agreed and headed out with the family. Brandon finished the dishes and went upstairs. He could hear Callie on her guitar. He knocked, "Go away Brandon, I don't wanna talk about it." She yells out. He opens her door slowly, "But I do."
Brandon walks in and sit on the floor by Mariana's bed, "I didn't mean for you to see that. I forgot my bag, I never wanted you to see it." She opened the paper that was laying on her bed beside her. "But I found it, Wyatt found it! But this song, you said you worked on it in the last two weeks since your accident! I thought we decided we weren't a thing!" Brandon sighed, "We did, that's why you couldn't know..." Brandon looked down avoiding her eyes. "When you showed up at the hospital at 3 am, I was hoping it was because you still loved me like I love you." Callie got off her bed and sat on her knees in front of him, "Brandon, it was." he looked up at her and smiled. She grabbed his hands in hers. "The moment I saw you in the hospital bed for the first time, everything I have been hiding came back." She smiled at him and laughed softly, "Hell, I even tried to break up with Wyatt, but he told me that he loved me, and that you didn't..." She stopped and sighed heavily, "He told me if you ever showed any signs of fighting for me he would step aside... That's why he broke up with me." She smiled, "He saw that song as you fighting for me." She says softly, "Maybe I was." he says just as soft. He pulls her into his lap, he wraps his arms around her and hugs her tightly.
Callie stays in his arms for a while, then quickly moves off his lap and walks back to her bed. "What would happen if Stef and Lena found out? I can't do this..." Brandon stands up and walks to her, "Callie, I don't care." she turns to him and shakes her head, "I do." He nods and hugs her for only a second and walks out of her room into his own. Shutting the door behind him. "I love you." Callie says to the spot he was only moments before.
"Callie!!" Stef yells from downstairs a few weeks later. Callie comes running downstairs and sees Stef, Lena, and Bill, her social worker, in the living room. "Have a seat Callie, Bill needs to to talk to you." Callie has a seat on the couch where Jude is sitting. Brandon stands in the doorway unnoticed. "Callie, Jude, We found some unsettling information. Jude, your adoption can be finalized on Tuesday. Callie, we have found that your father is not Donald, which means we don't have the right paperwork for the adoption to be final yet." "Wait? Donald isn't my father? What, how?!" She asks confused. "Bill, let's go in the kitchen." Lena says and she, Bill, and Stef head into the kitchen. Jude hugs Callie and she starts crying softly. Brandon walks in quietly, "Callie?" he ask softly. She looks up at him, "You heard?" He nodded. She lets go of Jude and runs out the back door and Brandon followed her. Jude headed into the kitchen to talk with Lena and Bill.
Brandon grabbed Callie's arm and pulls her into a hug. He hugged her tightly and she hugged him back. "I can't believe he lied to me. Donald is the only father I knew. I can't believe this." He nods and kisses her head softly. "We'll figure this out, one way or another, but together." She smiles up at him. "I need to find my father, my real father. I need... I don't know what I need anymore." She slipped from his arms and walked over to the edge of the porch and sat down. "What you need is a break." Brandon says sitting beside her. "But we will figure everything out. You have all of us." He says smiling at her, "Yeah, you have all of us." Jesus says from behind them. They turn to see the whole family behind them. She jumps up and hugs Mariana and rest of the family wraps around them. Callie laughs softly and pulls back. She looks at Jude, "You okay, with being adopted first?" She asks him, "Is that okay?" He asks her. She nods and hugs him.
That night for dinner Stef ordered pizza and everyone crammed into the living room for a movie night. Steff, Lena, Jesus and Jude were on the couch. Mariana took over the recliner, so that left Callie and Brandon on the small love seat. They put in Ferris Buller's Day Off and began digging into the pizza. Callie looked around the room surring the part Ferris is singing in the parade. She looked at Brandon. She loved the people around her, but with this bump, heck, this wall in the road. She realized what she really, really wanted. She slid her hand to Brandon's and placed her's on his for a moment and quickly pulled it away. He turned to see her looking at him. She nodded and he smiled. She stood up. "I'm gonna get more to drink, anyone else?" Everyone held up their glasses and Brandon offered to help. They took the glasses to the kitchen. After placing them on the counter Brandon opened the back door and Callie followed behind him, not making any noise. She took a step closer to him. "I think I know what I need. I need you. If you'll take me." He nods and pecks her lips so softly. "But Jude?" He asks. "He's getting adopted in two days. And after that, I will find my dad, and my new family." She smiles and he hugs her tightly. "Okay, I like it." They head back into the kitchen and fill all the drinks. They laugh and mess around, but they straight face as they walk back into the living room and pass drinks back out. They sit back down but just in the right spot so her hand is resting on his. He smiles at her and she smiles at the TV.
After everyone went to bed Callie walks back down to the back yard. She sits on the porch swing and she pulls her phone out. She sighs and calls a number she hasn't called in a few weeks. "Wyatt, I know you're upset with me. But I miss you, I want to talk to you. I miss my only friend in this place." she hangs up and sighs. Brandon sighs, "I thought we.." "Brandon, We did... I don't want to talk to him about that. I just felt like telling someone that's not in this family, about Donald." She says and pats the seat beside her. He sits down and she leans into his chest as he wraps his arms around her. "I can get used to this." She smiles.
