Letting my head slam onto the wooden desk, my arms were sprawled on top of it. My hair fell over my shoulders and rested on my back.

Hearing winces from the people sitting around me, I rolled my eyes.

I didn't even feel anything.

Hearing a familiar laughter erupt from behind me, I lifted my head to greet him. Dark brown hair came into my view, along with his eyes that burned into me intensely like a wooden log in fire. His rosy red lips curved upwards into a smile as a pout danced on my lips.

Sitting down at the seat next to me, he leans over to give me a kiss on the cheek. Before parting his lips to speak again, a small smirk appearing on his lips.

"What's wrong bubby?"

My cheeks were hot like they were on fire, from the kiss he gave me. Clearing my throat, I let a frown rest on my face.

"I definitely failed that midterm, I didn't get to study at all!" I covered my face with my hands letting it an angry grunt.

Stephen, my boyfriend, let's out a roar of laughter. He swayed my back soothingly while speaking.

"You'll be fine May."

Cringing to myself, I raised my head rolling my eyes. "I hate that nickname."

Hearing footsteps rustling in the front of the classroom, I adverted my eyes to the front. Stephen spoke again, as I turned my head to him.

"You'll be fine, I believe in you."

He rubbed my shoulders one last time before setting his bag down and turning his head to the front. Hearing Ms. Hyde clear her throat loudly, I turned my body to the front of the room.

She tidied up a stack of what I assumed were exam papers. "Good afternoon all, I've graded the exams from last Friday."

Hearing grunts across the room, I nodded to myself. Looks like not everyone thought they did the best on this exam.

"Once you get your paper, you may leave." I cheered to myself, thanking her silently.

Ms. Hyde was the AP Biology teacher, she's been my teacher since I was a sophomore. I'm a senior now, so let's just say I'm in love with science.

She started calling everyone's name as we all shared the same expression on our face, fear. Watching students one by one pass up and down the rows, everyone either had a cheerful expression or a shitty one.

Taking a glimpse at Stephen, he was scrolling through his phone aimlessly. He had nothing to worry about, his grades were always in top percentile.

"Mr. Harris." Hearing his name, he stuffs his phone in his back pocket while throwing his backpack over his shoulder and walked towards the teachers desk.

Taking the white 3 page exam into his hands, he looks up at me quickly. He sends me a heartwarming smile as I clapped for him happily, earning a few glares from Ms. Hyde.

"Ms. Ainara." I muttered a silent 'yes' while slinging my bag over my shoulder, walking towards the desk.

Seeing Stephen slip out of the door and into the hallway. Reaching her desk, she looks at me with a curious expression before handing me the exam face down. Silently cursing myself to the depths of hell, I took the paper and walked out of the room. Turning the paper quickly, I saw a 70 circled in red ink.

"Oh thank fucking god."

Letting out a sigh of relief, at least I passed that's all I ask for. Stephen was leaning against the sky blue wall, staring into the empty hallway. He looks up at me as I hand him my paper, he lets a goofy grin dance on his lips as he smirks.

"I told you.. but looks like we're going to need tutoring lessons bubby." His voice came out husky and sexy as those words rolled out of his mouth easily.

My cheeks flushed to the color of cherries as I lifted my hand to smack him. He took my hand and kissed it lightly before chuckling, I rolled my eyes at him.

"I'm just joking, but hey! At least you passed."

I nodded in agreement as I let out a small laugh, that probably sounded awkward. Stephen wraps his arms around me pulling me into his body, I breathed in his light cologne as I felt a smile creep onto my lips.
