My grandfather was on the edge of tears before he told me his last words "Its time... Its time I tell you my troubles" he spoke with a heavy breath. "I once was a young boy, doing things that I wasn't supposed to... one of those things was very horrible and had a cost of a curse" he continued his words. "The curse was from a man I called my best friend, his name was 'the shadowing figure'... he was known for bad luck and gave me a trade" he continued but this time he began to slow down more often. "The trade was that he would hide all my mistakes if... if I let him see my future grandson, after I pass" the face he had on after that gave me tears. He grabbed my hand and told me something unbelievable... "You will soon be visited by my old friend... he has something he wants to give you" and that's when I placed him onto his bed; without a single word out of my mouth, I held his coffin and began to carry it.
After a couple of days... things around the house began to go missing and sounds from the basement began to get louder each day. I was beginning to hear voices from the shadows and I would constantly have the same dream repeatedly. The dream was of a man... about 7 feet tall; he had nothing but a horrible grin and blood over his hands, he was only seen when in the dark but never in the light.
The dreams began to get worst... the man would always be seen and heard saying something only my grandfather knew. A few weeks went past and finally Halloween came around. The dreams were not bothering me anymore but the fact that I still heard obnoxious laughter from the shadows was starting to creep me out.
It was about 10:00 pm... and it was time for me to fall asleep once again. But this time I had a weird feeling about leaving the lights off; maybe because it was Halloween or because of the creepy laughter from outside my room. But still I chose to leave them as they were and fall asleep. After that, all I saw was darkness... a minute or so went passed and I finally started seeing a light. The light was coming from a flashlight that was hanging from the ceiling- it was repeatedly swinging back and forth as if it was being tampered with. I started walking towards it and that's when a voice began to speak. "It's about time you got here, I've been waiting an awful long time." Said the shadows. "My grandfather said you had something for me? Is that right" I responded. "Yes, indeed. I Do have something for you" soon after the reply... a face appeared in the dark. "It's called DEATH" the man answered again. "That can't be right! Sir... my grandfather said you made a deal with him, what was the deal" I said nervously. "Oh boy... he didn't tell you! Well let me do the honors... your so-called grandfather made a deal with me; the deal was to erase his past... but I needed something in return, so he told me that once he had passed... I would be able to take the soul from the last loved one he spoke to" the man began getting closer and the lights began flickering... the last thing I saw was a grin as bloody and wide as a used blade before I woke.
I breathed heavily before noticing that my room door open and a tall figure in the shadowing part of my room, giving the same grin that I had seen in my dreams. His mouth began to move as he said something deadly "To bad I can travel out of dreams to, seems I get a new addition to my collection!". His mouth had come closer to me before clawing its teeth into my chest.
