It's been a week since school started and I still hate it.
That's a lie. Elliot and I are actually becoming friends which is always nice. It does help that he happens to be working at my dad's place Saturdays and Sundays. I may or may not have stopped by just once or twice.
"Explain the law of segregation." Sofia asks as she quizzes me for the biology quiz that we have after lunch.
"I don't want to do this anymore!" I sigh and lay my head on the table. I glance up at her and pop a fry into my mouth.
"Okay so explain to me why Elliot, Adrian, and their friends are walking over here."
Before I can even utter a word 5 new bodies have joined our table.
Besides, Elliot and Adrian, I glance at the other faces that I haven't spoken to before.
Adrian smiles, "Oh hey there ladies. We didn't see you there."
Sofia rolls her eyes, "You didn't see us as you sat at our table? Get your eyes checked my guy."
There's nothing off about what she said but Sofia's tone is actually tone is actually more harsh than normal. It's something small that you wouldn't be able to pick up on unless you knew her well. However, Adrian winces a bit as if he understood.
"Sof..," he starts.
"Hey guys, I'm Sofia and this is my dear friend Atiana." She says suddenly smiling at the others. What on earth did I miss.
Elliot briefly glances at Adrian before smiling up at me. "Let me introduce you to Julian," he motions towards a guy with platinum blond hair, "Luna," a black haired girl who honestly was a bit intimidating, "and Aria." another gorgeous girl.
"So..do any of you want these cookies my mom baked?" Julian speaks up and a chorus of people saying yes is the response. From that moment on any awkwardness was lifted and it was like we had been friends for way longer than 3 minutes.
In that lunch break I learned a lot about this new group of people. Julian and Luna had been dating for the past year and were so cute together. I also learned that Kaia and Luna were adopted sisters. Kaia had been adopted into Luna's family when she was 6 years old after her mother who had raised her died suddenly in a fire.
