Chapter 7: Kallies P.O.V.
I finally figured out a couple days ago why those girls in the sundresses were giggling at Shawn and asking him for his number, and keep in mind he gave them the real one. Im not always on my Vine but I happened to be a couple days ago and saw that Shawn has a channel. so I checked it out and it turns out that thousands of people have checked it out too and liked, and followed him. the videos he's posting are of him singing. He hasn't sang out loud since the day he came to my house. He's getting famous. Slowly though. So far everyone in our general vicinity knows his name. That's when I hear someone calling my name.
"Kallie?!, Helloooo!" Alexis was waving and practically yelling in my face.
"Oh! I'm sorry Alexis! I guess I got lost in my own thoughts again."
"You know, you've been doing that a lot lately?"
"Yeah."
"Is there anything wrong?"
"Yeah."
"Do you want to talk about it?"
"No not really. Not yet" I said to her and she nodded back. She knows me well enough to wait until I'm ready to talk about things. If she knew it was about Shawn she'd be freaking out by now and threatening to kill him.
Today went by pretty slowly at school but when the final bell rang I grabbed my things and walked to my car. Shawn had stopped asking to give be rides about the same time he started uploading those 6 second videos. As I was getting in my car Shawn drove past and nodded at me. I have a faint wave and hopped in, started the car, and drove to Sunrise. (short for the café I mentioned earlier.) I told the woman at the counter that I wanted a small strawberry tea and waited. I saw some application forms for a job there. I grabbed one and stuck it in my purse while I payed for my tea and walked out. And ran right into. Oh look. Glorious Penelope.
"Watch where your walking bitch." she spat at me.
"Stuff it you bimbo."
"What was that?"
"You heard me! I'm sick of your crap, leave me alone!"
She tried to grab my hair when I suddenly felt this surge of energy go through me.
*POOF*
I ducked and decked that poon right in the throat. Sadly, I did it just as she was tripping me. Then I saw a familiar face run towards her and pull her up. It all went quiet around me. Like time had just stopped.
Shawn. He was the one running after HER to pick HER up.
"What the hell Penelope are you okay?!" he yelled, "what the fuck is your proble-" then he realized it was me who hit her. he want quiet and just stopped talking all together. He helped Penelope up and as he did so she yelled, "I'll get you for this you stupid slut!"
That's when I felt a had on my shoulder as I was sitting on the ground examining the particularly painful wound on my knee. I guess I scratched it as she tripped me. I looked up and realized it was the tan boy from the dock I saw the day of the ked girls!
"You okay?" he asked sweetly.
"Uh.. Yeah! I think I'll be fine."
He helped me up as I saw the look on Shawn's face. It was blank. Painfully blank. And he practically drug Penelope to the car and sped off. Serves him right for breaking my promise. And then it hit me. He broke the promise.
I felt the hot tears roll down my face. I didn't make a noise. I didn't really even move my face. I just let the tears roll down. Then Tan Boy helped me up and took me to a bench nearby.
"Hey are you really okay? Because last time I checked 'okay' means no tears."
"I don't know anymore." that's all the words I could muster out at the time.
"Well my name is Cameron. Cameron Dallas." His voice was so gentle, like he was talking to a puppy.
"My names Kallie Cass. Do you happen to have any bitch stickers- I mean band-aids with you?" I half giggled at my mentioning of what Alexis and I call band-aids.
"UHM no let me go ask inside!"
He came out with a couple band-aids for my knee. Dane that sucker was bleeding!
"Thanks for the help! Means alot." I thanked him.
"No problem! No trouble helping out a pretty girl like yourself." there goes that wink again! I sort of just stared at him when I noticed he was in khaki shorts, a blue and yellow stripped tank top, and black vans. The tank top was cut a little low on the sides so when he bent down I could see his stomach. ZAYUM. Those abs. I shook my head as I realized I was checking out a total stranger. Although a totally hot stranger I had to look away.
I asked him, "Do you live here?"
"I do now, I moved here about a week and a half ago."
"Oh, will you be going to school here? I'm a senior next year."
"Haha, no I just graduated at my old school."
"Oh that's cool."
"Yeah feels kinda weird though."
*Hours Later*
I hadn't realized how much time had flown by! We were just walking and talking for hours! I felt so comfortable around Cameron, like i'd known him forever.
When our laughing fit was over I checked my phone and had 3 missed calls, 2 from mom, and 1 fr- Shawn. I immediately deleted the voicemail he sent me.
"Oh shit!" I yelped.
"Whoa, what's the matter?" He asked.
"Mom called twice and it's almost 10 o'clock! I should go now!"
"Oh okay sorry to keep you so long!"
"God no! I had an awesome time today, you really took my mind off of a couple things! Thanks for the company."
"Hey uh..."
"Yeah?"
"Could I get your number? Just for future bitch sticker needs?"
I giggled aloud, "Why yes kind sir you may."
As I have him my number he kissed me on the cheek an said goodbye. I sort of stood there like an idiot for a little bit. Then I realized. It was so quiet. And still. Almost too still. And I jumped when I heard my phone ding, it was Cameron
'I hope I can see you again soon beautiful, hopefully no tears next time.😘'
And with that as I was smiling at the text, I hear the loudest honk ever. And I saw the Jeeps headlights in the distance.
