~ 3 days earlier ~ As Chloe's eyes drooped with exhaustion and blotched with redness, she let out a sigh. She turned her head away from her bright computer screen and rubbed her eyes and face. She had been working on a case that had now hit a wall, but she refused to give up. It didn't make any sense to her though, the case was rigged with something she wasn't seeing, and she had tried so hard to look at it from all angles, but nothing added up. It was a mystery case and by this time she actually believed it was. She was dealing with a serial killer, or that she thought, there were four homicide cases she was looking at, the murders all took place in random areas and the victims had no connections between them, it vexed her. It was like her case had gone blank, with no answers. She rubbed her forehead and shook her head, "how" she whispered to herself. She finally took out her phone and looked at it, but her eyes immediately got wide as she read the text from her babysitter for Trixie. "I got there and was told you already had another sitter and that it was taken care of" she read out loud. "Maze" she said angrily, and quickly grabbed her keys and bag. She pulled into the parking lot of the apartment complex, and sighed angrily as she walked up the stairs. She unlocked the door but was met with darkness inside the apartment. She quickly looked around and alarmingly got out her gun. She felt around for the lights but felt something over them. She called out but was left with no response. She ventured into the darkness and shortly after she spotted a dark shadow. She felt it and jumped back when it moved. "Who goes there" a familiar voice yelled out into the apartment. "Lucifer?" Chloe immediately said with genuine confusion. A light pulverized her eyes and she jolted back with reaction. She quickly blinked and gazed down at the sight of Lucifer removing a blindfold off of him and smiling up at her from a chair. "What the hell are you doing?" Chloe says pushing the flashlight out of her line of sight. "Well I got dragged into a game of hide and seek and apparently I'm the seeker" he responds, standing up and brushing himself off. "And whose idea was this?" She asks putting her gun back in its holster. "Well don't look me" Lucifer says pointing behind her. The lights come back on and Chloe turns to see Maze and Trixie. Trixie had a huge grin on her face to stop her from laughing and Maze fist bumped her, she was grinning as well.

"It was the little human and I's idea" she says nodding her head. "It was fun mommy" Trixie said as she smiled. Lucifer came to Chloe's side and added "maybe for them it was." "Okay well everyone has had their fun but Trixie needs to get to bed and I need rest or else I won't be awake tomorrow to work a case." Chloe says peering around the room. "Fine" Maze blurts out. "That sounds lovely to me" Lucifer says smiling and walking to the door. "Maze, tiny human, detective" Lucifer says nodding at each of them then walking out the door. Maze pats Trixie on the shoulder then retreats back to her room. "Come on Monkey lets go get ready for bed" Chloe says walking Trixie to her room.
