Lucifer & Chloe: Alluring Devilish Ways

Volume VI

   Chloe approaches a cop car where the killer, Courtney Wilson, was being arrested. She leans over the side of the car door and gives her a nasty gaze. "Why'd you do it?" Chloe asks crossing her arms in anger. "Do what" she responds smartly. "Test me and your sentence will be longer if you don't get a death sentence, now tell me why did you kill two people?" Chloe snaps back. "Fuck you bitch" she violently answers and spits black ooze in Chloe's face. Chloe steps back in reaction, shocked at the burning sensation from the saliva. She then slams the door shut not even checking to see if she was all the way in the car. "Enjoy prison" Chloe says glaring in the window then wiping the spit vigorously off of herself. She walks away sighing still working on getting the bodily fluid off.
    "Damn mortality" Lucifer says biting his lip hard as his wound gets cleaned. "Hey" Chloe sighs out taking a seat next to him on the back of the ambulance. "Hey, what did our newly wed murderer have to say?" Lucifer asks gazing over at Chloe. "Nothing much" she answers reliving the disgusting memory of spit. "You know this ties in with the other murder but the other 4 are still unsolved" she says with an irritated tone. "Welp I know you'll figure them out eventually detective" Lucifer says flashing her a smile. "Maybe, I just don't know the motive she had, all we know is that the second victim was her ex and she wrote on the wood floor of the bar that he was unfaithful but why would she kill her new second husband?" Chloe says itching her chin. Lucifer shrugs beside her, "maybe she was already sick of this one" he adds. "Yeah I just-" Chloe's head suddenly gets struck with pain shooting all throughout her nerves and hunches over while her whole body shakes. "Detective?!" Lucifer bursts out with concern in his tone. "Detective!" He repeats and holds her back, he tries to hold her gaze but she trembles uncontrollably. It suddenly ceases and Chloe slowly meets his gaze. "I-I'm fine" She stumbles on her words. "You didn't look fine" Lucifer states raising a conflicted eyebrow. "No I'm fine, I just need to rest" Chloe says rubbing her face. "Are you sure" Lucifer asks trying to hold her gaze once more. "Yeah I'll just go home and get some sleep" she says nodding. Lucifer sighs but looks at her cautiously,

he places his hand back in his lap from her back. "I'll drive" he gently demands, "no no Lucifer, I can drive home myself" she responds shaking her head. "I wasn't asking detective" he states standing from the ambulance. "Ugh okay" Chloe says standing by his side.
    Silence falls over the car as Lucifer and Chloe both are consumed by their thoughts. Every once and a while Lucifer's eyes linger from the road over to Chloe. She just looks down at her lap and focuses on breathing trying not to think about what the hell happened to her a minute ago. "Detective seriously are you okay" Lucifer asks breaking the tension of the silence.  "Yeah I'm fine" she responds not wanting to look up. Lucifer pulls up at her apartment building and insists on walking her up to her door. Lucifer and Chloe's shoulders rub against each other's as they walk, "how's your neck?" She asks catching Lucifer's gaze. "It'll heal I'm sure" he answers back. "How did she even pick you out of the crowd?" Chloe asks raising an eyebrow. "I don't think you want to know detective" he says with a hint of guilt in his voice. "No you didn't" Chloe says tilting her head in disbelief, "oh yes" he says as the edge of his lip perks up into a smile. She shakes her head, "oh course" she says with a small laugh. "You could've gotten killed" she says still holding his gaze, he shrugs and opens her door, "but I didn't." Chloe pats him on the arm, still smiling, "thank you Lucifer." "Oh your welcome" he says with a devious grin. Chloe shakes off his weirdness and closes the door behind her.
