Wait, would Meryl admit her last name? The thought struck him like a bolt of lightning and he spun around. "Wait, Meredith!" Say Davis, say Davis, please say Davis, he repeated over and over in his mind. "Could I have your last name? For my contacts I mean."

Meryl quickly thought of the closest family that wasn't a Davis. "White. Meredith White." As soon as that slipped out of her mouth, she mentally chastised herself. Really, Meryl, really.

His eyebrows shot up in surprise, thankfully hidden by his baseball cap. "Okay, thanks Meredith, I'll give you a call." As soon as she turned away, his fixed expression changed from shocked to confused. She used my last name! Why did she use my last name? Out of all the last names? Does she miss me too? A thousand more questions sprung to his head.

Meryl walked back to where her friends were sitting.

"Oh my god, I think you got yourself a boyfriend!" Brooklyn gushed as Meryl approached their table with a glare fixed on her face.

"Oh, you guys are so dead. You left me with a fricken stranger!" Meryl planted her butt down next to Kassie, smoothing out her skirt, the glare not leaving her face.

"Madith is cute though. Meredith and Matthew. Meet in a romantic coffeehouse in Italy, get married, and find out who Meredith really is." Jessica giggled, planning out her whole life for her.

"Oh, by the way, Matthew asked for my number, so I gave him yours, Jessica." Meryl grabbed a pastry and shot a smug smile at Jessica.

To her surprise, Jessica beamed. "That's great! I'll totally plan a second date for you guys."

"Oh my god, Jess." She groaned in exasperation, but laughed along with them.

Charlie went back to his friends, putting up with their teasing. He had to admit that Meryl enchanted him, even when she was in disguise. After a while, a movement in the corner of his eye attracted his attention. The girls were getting up and throwing away their trash. He sneaked one last glance at Meryl as they pushed open the door and headed out. A soft tinkling of the bells sounded as the door opened.

Meryl stepped outside into the bright light outside. She loved it there, just the friendly atmosphere and people were all so amazing. "We should walk around a little bit. Look for souvenirs, new fashion." She suggested, looking down the busy street, where there were little shops and smiling shopkeepers. Street vendors sold exquisite jewelry, and some sold little snacks.

"Sounds good." Kassandra started down the street, heading towards the first stand, which happened to be a postcard stand.

"Hi, can I help you?" A friendly blond around their age suddenly appeared around the corner.

Kassandra looked up as Jessica, Meryl, and Brooklyn approached them. "Hi, and thanks, but we're just browsing."

"Okay, my names Brianna if you need anything." Brianna smiled politely and stepped back.

Suddenly a small postcard attracted Meryl's attention.

It was a picture of a sparkling frozen lake, with a figure skater in the corner of the image. "Where is this? It's so beautiful!" She exclaimed, holding up the card.

Kassie, Jessica, and Brooke snorted. "Of course, Mer. Only you would spot that postcard from a mile away." Kassie laughed.

"Whatever, okay," Meryl smiled and showed Brianna the card.

"It's a small pond, about 50 minutes east of here." Brianna peered at the picture and tried to remember what it was like.

"Is it still frozen solid?" Meryl started to get excited.

"It's pretty much frozen year round because it's located in the mountains, where it's always cold." She hoped she was giving accurate information.

Meryl squealed in excitement. "We could go! I haven't been on skates in forever! I'm Meredith, by the way, I figure skate. Competitively." She suddenly remembered her manners and introduced herself using the disguise.

"Nice to meet you." Brianna smiled at this young woman's excitement. "I'm guessing your on vacation?"

"Yes, we are, and she misses the ice like crazy." Kassandra interrupted.

Meryl laughed. "Yeah. I'll buy this postcard, please." She handed over some money which Brianna accepted with a grateful smile.

"Kassie, can we please visit this frozen lake? I know we have a schedule planned out, but please?" Meryl begged, desperately wanting to feel the freedom of of flying across the ice again.

"Mer, it's not like you have your skates here with you anyways. And I don't know where you would find ice skates here." Brooke shot a confused look at Meryl.

She snorted, rolling her eyes at Brooklyn. "Dude, I bring my skates everywhere. They're in my suitcase right now, no joke."

"Oh my god. Well, we have tours tomorow and the next day, but on Wednesday I guess we could go, since we were just planning to relax on the beach that day." Kassandra said thoughtfully knowing how much this meant to Meryl. She was once a figure skater, and knew the feeling.

"Wednesday it is! Weeee, I can't wait! Thank you so much, Brianna, now let's go check out some more shops!" Meryl squealed, now fueled by excitement and delight. In her haste and enthusiasm, she forgot her postcard on the stand, and everyone else was too busy chasing after her and making sure she didn't get into trouble in her excited state to notice.

Until another particular skater came along.
