Halfway back to their hotel, Meryl squealed, remembering about the pond. "Oh my god, I can't wait until Wednesday!"

The girls groaned. "Yeah, well, guess what you have two more days with us before you can put on your skates again." Brooklyn laughed, thinking about tomorow and Tuesday, which they were planning to tour the city.

Meryl's face fell as she searched her purse. "I think I forgot the postcard at the stand. It was so pretty! Oh well, I guess it's just a postcard anyways."

"We can come back for it on Thursday. Were going to the formal dinner that day anyways, so we'll be downtown." Kassandra replied, knowing how much Meryl loved that card.

Monday and Tuesday passed quickly for the girls, though Charlie was slowly counting down the hours. He did not enjoy studying with Professor Macmillan, who took a liking to Josh and Derek right away and ignoring the rest of them. Unfortunately for him, they had to spend all Monday and Tuesday with him. But then Charlie out his foot down and firmly argued that they were not going to study with him on Wednesday, but instead take the day off and visit the pond.

Meryl woke up Wednesday morning, bursting with energy. The girls, however, were reluctant to get up. Especially Kassandra, who unfortunately shared a room with Meryl.

"Good morning Kassie!" Meryl leaped out of bed and ran over to the deck, ripping oped the curtains and opened the sliding glass doors, letting the morning breeze in. She stepped outside in her pajamas, looking down the balcony. Their room faced the ocean, which was a beautiful blue. That day was perfect, and Meryl wondered if there really was a frozen pond a couple miles away.

"Go back to sleep, Meryl. It's only nine in the morning." Kassandra groaned, rolling over and trying to shut out the sunlight that Meryl had let in.

"Whatever. I'll go wake Brooke and Jess now, and get ready." Meryl skipped over into the door that connected the girls rooms. She burst into their room, seeing the girls still sleeping and the room very dark.

"Wake up! Were going skating today!" She bounced around their room, yanking open the curtains and the door, letting fresh air and sunlight in.

"No, YOU'RE going skating. I'm going to laugh from the side." Jessica sat up with a yawn as Brooklyn rolled over sleepily.

"I'm so excited! I'll go get ready. You guys had better be up and ready when I get back!" She went to her room with an excited spring in her step. She walked over to her table, and looked over her jewelry. Meryl remembered with a pang about her gold necklace. She glanced down at her two rings, debating which one to wear. The beautiful topaz one she had worn the last couple of days lay next to the plain, slim gold band that Charlie had given her a while ago.

Her brain insisted on the topaz ring, but her heart was leaning towards the gold ring. Grabbing the slim ring, she slipped it onto her left middle finger and looked towards her suitcase, wondering what to wear. Her gaze landed on a pretty floral pink dress from the Tara Lipinski collection. She decided she would wear that with some leggings.

An hour later, she walked out of the bathroom, makeup complete, hair blow dried and swept to the side, and a twinkle of excitement in her green eyes.

Kassandra was now sitting up in bed, watching tv. She gasped as she looked over at a Meryl, who was now on her phone. "Oh my god are you crazy? We're going to a frozen pond! A frozen pond!" She looked at Meryl's dress.

"Kassie, you forget I train in a freezing rink every day with only tights and a tank top." Meryl raised an eyebrow at Kassandra in amusement.

"I guess. You look beautiful though, I wish Matthew could see you today." Kassie smirked, glancing at Meryl to see an exasperated look on her face.
