Chapter Four
Wesley drives me home and now we're standing on my front porch, facing each other awkwardly. I'm still shivering in Wesley's leather jacket with "WT" imprinted on the back of it. My mind is all over the place and I don't know what to think. They were probably drunk and didn't know what they were doing. They wouldn't do that to me. Right?
"Why?" I ask Wesley.
"What?"
"Wesley, I know you hate me. You avoid me everyday. It's like you don't want anyone to know we're next-door-neighbors or that we've known each other since we were children. I'm asking you why you're doing this. Why you're helping me."
"Tessa, I don't hate you. I just strongly dislike you. No offense though. Okay, it's just that- I don't know. You're like the typical good girl. You never take risks and you're so naive. You just live in a bubble and you think everything is perfect. Which you are. Perfect grades. Perfect family. Perfect social life. It's annoying."
His face is full of regret and he immediately backtracks, probably from my confused and slightly hurt face.
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said that considering everything that happened to you tonight. Tyler and Maya suck ass. You didn't deserve that."
"It's okay. I understand. Thank you." I slightly smile and start to head into my house.
"Wait. Come over to my house tomorrow morning. We'll plan a huge day together with my friends."
"I don't know if I can do anything tomorrow. I'll probably just watch sad romance movies and listen to sad songs and eat everything I possibly can, but I'll think about it."
He smiles. "Alright, I'll maybe see you tomorrow. Goodnight Tessa."
"Goodnight Wesley."
I go up to my room and change. Then I realize I didn't give Wesley his jacket back. Whatever, I'll give it back tomorrow. I've had a long fucking day and I just want it to be over. I have absolutely no idea what I'm going to do about the whole situation. I guess we'll see.

I wake up to pebbles hitting my window. I groan and check the time. 7:41. It's Saturday. I hate you, Wesley Thomas. I get out of bed and walk to the window, not bothering to fix my hair or wipe the drool off of my face.
Wesley's sitting on the edge of his windowsill with a bunch of pebbles in his hand. I don't know why, but he looks like a potato at this moment. Not even a bad potato. A good potato. What is wrong with me?
"What do you want potato?" I grumble, leaning on my windowsill with my hands.
"Potato? Me? You're the one with the bed head and drool on your face."
"Aw, you're so sweet. Seriously, Wes, what do you want? It's 7:42 in the morning. ON A SATURDAY."
"We have to get started on our top secret revenge plan. It's gonna take all day."
"Top secret revenge plan? What are you on about?"
"I can't tell you here. You need to come over." He whispers the next bit, "It's a secret."
"Fine, let me make myself look decent first."
"Okay. Hurry though. Jordan and Noah will be here any minute."
"Who now?"
"My friends."
"You have two friends?" I stifle a giggle.
"No. Those are just two out of many."
"Sure they are. See you in a bit, potato."
He laughs, hops off the windowsill, and closes the curtain. I quickly gather my hair in a ponytail and put on my makeup. I change into a light pink, off-the-shoulder top, and a denim skirt. I slip on a pair of Converse, leave my mom a note saying I'll be out for the day, and throw a few pebbles at Wesley's window.
"Ready?" he says after he opens the window.
"Ready."
I climb out of my window and into Wesley's room. His friends, Jordan and Noah, are already here. We all sit on the floor, in a circle.
"Hey guys," I excitedly say to everyone.
"Hey, you're name is Tessa right? Wes here has told us so much about you," a blonde hair and blue eyed boy says. "I'm Noah."
"Yeah, I'm Tessa. Nice to meet you. I hope he's told you good things."
"Yeah, just that you're an annoying goody two shoes with perfect hair and a perfect body with perfect teeth and-" a hand slaps over Noah's mouth as he explains how much Wesley hates me. Oh, wait no. How much he "strongly dislikes" me. I mean, that was kind of a compliment, actually.
Wesley ducks his head behind the white board he plans on using for the "top secret revenge plan."
"Okay, we get it. I'm Jordan. I'm sorry about what how your best friend and boyfriend stabbed you in the back. Scratch that. How they fucking brutally murdered you. Um anyways, we're gonna do everything we can to make you feel better," the boy with brown hair and hazel eyes says as he smiles.
"Me too. We feel horrible. Those guys are fucking retarded for what they did," Noah adds.
I genuinely smile. "Thank you so much. And it's okay. I'll be okay. Somehow. So what are we doing?" I turn to Wesley.
He seems deep in thought but snaps out of it as he hears my voice. "Well, first on the agenda, we are working out. We need to physically get ready for 'the plan.' Well, it's more you than us, because I mean, we're already physically ready," Wesley explains and flexes his muscles. Boys.
"Okay. But just to let you know ahead of time, I cannot do one push up for my life."
"And that'll change by the end of our workout session. We've hired a personal trainer just for you." Noah says.
I sigh. "Okay, whatever you say."
"Next on the agenda, we have shopping. We need to grab a few essentials for the revenge plan," Wesley says.
"And by grab, do you mean literally grab and walk out of the store without paying?"
"Okay, Tess. We may be the "bad boys" of the school, but we don't steal," Jordan says.
"Um, right! We totally, one hundred percent, honestly, completely, DO NOT steal," Noah adds with a cheesy grin. Oh, boy.
"Third, we bake," Wesley smirks.
"Bake? What does baking have anything to do with revenge on Tyler and Maya?"
"It doesn't have anything to do with the plan. It's just something we're doing for fun."
"Oh. That sounds fun. I love baking."
"Oh, trust me Tess, it will be the most fun you'll ever have while baking," Jordan says, smirking.
"I don't know what that means, but okay. What's the last thing to do on our list?"
"The final thing on the agenda is our top secret revenge plan. Duh."
"I know, Wesley. I mean what are we gonna do for it. Like, what's the plan?"
"We'll talk about that when it's time. For right now, we need to go to the gym for our workout. Come on, I'm driving."
We all get up and leave the house. I'm excited but nervous at the same time. I don't know what Wesley has planned or what will happen afterwards, but all I can think now, is how much I hate Maya and Tyler.
Let the day begin.
