"One day you look back and everything will make sense. For now, just trust me to keep you safe, okay?"

Maurice

I've never run so much in my life. Adeline's father had told her to "Get Maurice out of here" and she listened to him. We were now running through the woods to God knows where running from people who are doing god knows what to Adeline's family.
The wind was whipping around my face, my back still slightly stung from what that Hunter threw at me. My shirt got caught on a branch and I fell down. I couldn't get back up, so I just stayed down trying to catch my breath.
Once Adeline realized I wasn't behind her anymore, she turned around. Realizing I was one the ground she ran back to Me and helped me up.
"I can't... Run... Anymore... "I said between pants, leaning over and resting my hands on my knees. Adeline, catching her breath stopped and leaned against a tree.
"Jeesh, I'm Sorry M. This wasn't supposed to go like this. I didn't realize just how affected your abilities must be from those freaking pills you've been given." She told me apologetically.
I couldn't figure out what to say to this. So instead of commenting on her apology I asked what that stuff they were throwing was.
"Oh that? That was wolfsbane" She told me. I looked at her arm, of was red from where some of it got thrown at her. My eyes moved to my exposed shoulder and back, there wasn't very big mark, and I was fairly certain that I was exposed to a lot more than she was. The Hunter was right above me. Adeline, noticing what I looking at, came over to me and examined my back. And shoulders.
"Are you okay? I'm surprised you're skin isn't more red. Normally one of us would be in severe pain right now, he practically threw the whole bag at you." She said, slightly touching my back where it stung the most. I smiled at her, and nodded.
"I'm fine. It didn't hurt that much, I was more concerned for the little girl. Everyone was crying out when it hit them, I couldn't just let the kid get hurt. Who was she?" I asked Adeline, who was now looking at the ground around us and through the plants by the tree trunks.
"That was Emily Blackwell. The twins little sister, she's only five." She told, kneeling down and pulling some plants out of the ground. When I asked what she doing, she just handed me the plant she just picked.
"Here. I'm looking for something that can help speed up your healing process. Something that help counteract the poison." she told me.
I remembered the bloody man who came in to Adelines trailer freaking out about someone named Niles.
"Adeline, who was that guy who came into your trailer? Cyril I think? And the person your father was asking about?" I asked her. She stopped and looked over to me, thinking about something.
"That was Cyril Ragenon. The person he was asking about is his twin brother Niles. They never go anywhere without each other. That's why my father was so concerned. I hope Niles is okay, they don't do very well when they're separate." she explained to me. I asked what she meant about the last part.
"Niles is blind. Apart from that they also share a telepathic connection, one of the perks of being twins. All twin werewolves have an ability like that." She told me.
"What do you mean? How is that even possible?" I asked. Adeline sighed, and went back to her work.
"I guess the easiest way to explain it is, Werewolves have two souls. The human one and the inner wolf. When a werewolf mother has a child, she gives a piece of her power to the child. When you have twins, they share the soul that is their inner wolf. It creates a bond that can't even be broken by death. When they transform, they have a pure white form. Cyril and Niles have always been dependent on each other. When one is in pain, the other is in pain. It's best to let them explain the full extent of their telepathic connection." Adeline told me.
"Wait so, does that mean that Joseph and Laura have an ability like that" I inquired. She nodded and continued.
"Sort of. They're both Empaths. They specialize in something called Pathokinesis. They can feel the emotions of people that are really close to them. When they come into to physical contact with a person, they can influence their emotions. That what they were doing in the trailer. When they hold hands like that they're powers are amplified. They were trying to calm down both Cyril and Niles though their telepathic connection. They also helped the atmosphere in the trailer, that why it felt calmer in there than it did when you got outside. " She told me. I just stared at her. Realizing that they do the emotion manipulation thing a lot. I should have been mad, but strangely I wasn't. I was grateful to them. They've helped me through some very confusing moments today.
Adeline seemed to find what she was looking for. She found a rock, and started crushing the plants together. She searched through her bag until she found a small clear bottle that had a light blue liquid in in. She smiled in satisfaction, mixing the plants together with some of the liquid in her half filled water bottle. She shook it up and handed it to me. She warned me not to drink it.
Adeline tore off a piece of cloth from a t shirt in her bag and poured some of the mixture onto it. Warning me that it might sting a little she stood behind me and started to dab it on my back and shoulders. Once she was done, she did the same to her arm. She stuffed everything back into her bag. And we started walking.
I was about to ask where we were going when her phone rang.
"Hello? Yeah... She's right here... No dad, she's fine... Yeah... I'm okay.... Dont-... No-... I'm fine, I promise. Is everyone okay?... What!?... Oh... Okay... That's good... Did you find him?... He is?... Okay... Okay.... Okay.... Got it.... See you then. " Once she finished her call, she told me that we should go back to my house. Jonas had to move camp, so the Hunters wouldn't find them again.
"Is everyone okay?" I asked.
"Yeah, don't worry about them. They found Niles, he's worse off than Cyril, but he'll live." She told me.
"That's good." I responded, not knowing what else to say. She nodded and asked it I was ready to go. I told her I was and we took off running yet again through the woods, back to my house.
